hi, i have the same prob, just took it in today (again) cos the 1st guy wouldnt beileve me as when i took it in the 1st time it was a day before the warranty was due to expire. but this time they were more helpful, but they bascially said it looks like it has some liquid spilt or a fingerprint on the on the lense and they gave me a place to take it into and said if the problem is the camera they will fix it, but if its through fault of my own they will fix it at a cost to me. just reading other threads and people have been saying to tap the lenses, give that a try. But that wasnt any help to me. You and thousands of Sony owners have this problem. Sony won't help. One guy solved the problem...he ran over the camera with his SVU...it doesn't say ACCESS anymore!
Both your camera`s lenses are faulty. It is a common problem found on the DSC-W range of cameras and therefore not to expensive to repair.
The lens unit is only available as a complete unit from Sony. Your best bet would be to contact the retailer where you bought it and ask him for the details for your nearest Sony Service centre. It needs to be a Authorised service centre as there are software and settings that must be done after a lens replacement.
In my experience repair cost will be between 40 and 60 % of the price you paid for the camera.
Sorry there really is not anything you can do yourselves to fix these problems.
Hello Manea, The main board of your camera get malfunctioning and need to be replaced.This actueally not related to lens.This is main board problem called SY-*** board.For this plz contact any SONY SERVICE CENTRE nearby.

there is no password. Replacement/realignement of the optical block will solve the problem. Please contact the nearest Authorized Sony Service. The price for optical block (lens) is about 70 Euro (for my account).
