Television TV was working fine and switched off as normal. Next day, we switched it on from the TV (not the remote)and although it sounded like it was switching on, no picture appeared and the On/Off indicator light flashed alternately red then green. This is still happening 24 hours later. TV is a Toshiba 29A3TA . Cheers for your help. ps Sound can be played via surround system

Have experienced the same problem, which persists if the TV is switched off then on, or disconnected from the mains.

We have an RCA 32" Model No. 32450 which worked fine, until we turned it off one day, the following day we tried to turn it back on with the remote and it wouldn't respond. Something burnt up inside, we could see a little smoke and it smelled hot. I opened up the back, but could see no burnt components. Please help....Jeff [email protected]

I had the same trouble with mine as well but I just unplugged it from the wall socket and waited for about 30sec then plugged it back in and watched it as normal. I bought mine in 2002 and this has only happened to me 4 times.

Is this a Toshiba or an RCA? The problem description does not seem to be right. From what your saying though it sounds like there isn't any high voltage. If you are not qualified to work on TVs you probably should take it to a shop for repair.

Blue picture with normal sound

Is the video plugged in? It may have fallen out - this is if you are using RCA style jacks - one for video, and two for sound

10 Steps to Program Your Directv Remote

3. Hold down MUTE and SELECT until a small green light at the top of the switch blinks twice.

4. Enter code 9911.

How to reset tv. Have sound but black screen

LCD's use a colorful crystal see through display which only visible when light is shining through it. if you have sound and no picture it's always a faulty PSU. Very easy to change out actually.

Television displays in blue , only checked all

For your remote problem, mine has stopped working a couple of times and here is what Sharp had me do: Take the batteries out of the compartment. Next press and hold down the power button on the remote for a count of 30 seconds. Return batteries and the RC should be reset. As for the other problem, I had a similar thing happen tonight, hence I am on this site looking for help. My remote quite working, so I did the above, to no avail. I noticed the channel number box was frozen on the screen. I could not turn the TV off manually and had to unplug from AC. I plugged it back in and got sound but no picture, just that bluish dark screen. TV would not turn off. Then I got nothing, no sound, no pic. I left the TV unplugged for several minutes, 5 or so, plugged it in and it did work and is working now, RC too. You might try unplugging it for an extended time.

My RCA D52W20 will not stay on

Clicking sound is power relay engaging. If all systems are not functioning properly, unit will shut down to prevent further damage and/or fire hazard

Remote stopped work for my kp-61hs10

Sounds to me like a problem in the tv, not the remote. A short maybe, or a bad connection somewhere.

Sound normal, Screen display super-dark.

I would try it on another tv. although as far as the cable goes, on the inside sound and video runs on different sets of wires, so it really could be either. Just need to test it on another tv.
