I have a Zen V plus. The Zen software is on my pc. I have previously used Windows Media Player to manage my music from CD to computer and computer to my Zen. I recent;y tried to add music to my Zen and am able to copy a cd onto my pc but am unable to transfer this onto the Zen. Computer tells me that no device is connected eventhough it is connected ?? Please help!
I found the solution. When I connected my device to computer, it was unknown. I tried to reinstalled the software; however, the problem was still going on. To solve it;
1. Connect your device to your computer,
2. My computer, system properties, device manager
3. Find Creative zen which has attention icon
4. Click the Zen and then delete it
5. Plug out your device, and plug it again. That's all.

Zen V Plus is not recognized as "connected" on any USB port. Creative Sync Manager says "no player connected," even though it's plugged in and I got that Windows sound that you're supposed to get whenever you connect a device to a USB port. Nothing has changed on either my PC or my Zen since I last connected two weeks ago.
My computer tells me to connect my player even though it is connected and the software is installed
same problem
everything is hooked up on mine too but it wont recognize it! I did some digging and it seems that the somethings up with the driver. I even tried reinstalling the software that came with it but to no avail...
same
Says player not connected even though the player is charging when plugged in.
same as everyone, zen is plugged in, i've used windows media 11 on it before on this computer, all software is installed, but it wont allow my device to connected to sync to and from the player.... someone help me out!!
Same I'm getting so frustrated and Yahoo Jukebox says you can't unlimited download anymore so I don't know how to get songs.....
Pretty disappointing, I'm a fairly tech savvy person (a software engineer) yet can't figure out what's wrong. I bought a Creative Zen V Plus 4GB about 5 months ago and basically only did one mass transfer of mp3's. I believe there were some issues even then.
Now, as with the rest of you, my mp3 player is not detected at all by my computer. If I remember correctly, when I purchased this mp3 player and transferred songs when I first bought it, even then only the Yahoo Jukebox correctly identified that the device was connected. Even then, I remember my Creative Zen Media explorer had issues.
Now that Yahoo has stopped developing their Jukebox, there's a chance they simply stopped supporting this software and that we're stuck with a useless device.
i've had it working before, had to re-format/install xp, and now that windows media player 11 is back, it doesn't connect.. it's some file you uninstall that is auto-connecting to the player, taking up it's communication address line.. if i only remembered which one.. >.>
I know! I can't find any solutions! I have tried so hard online!
its a software malfunction and guess what? the only way to fix it is connecting your player and installing the software again, at last a solution! ohhhh wait..... can't to that... thanks Creative Labs!
Still not working
Now after pressing delete on device manager, I can't even get the computer to stop popping "MTP device found, new hardware" up every few seconds. I can't fix anything, i'v tried reinstalling the software and restarting several times...what do i do?
Amy, first, delete the creative which is on device manager, and then uninstall everything related to creative mp3 player. Restart your computer. After that, install the program again and plug in the cable. I guess, that will hep you.
Amy, I think reinstalling windows media player will not help you. Are u sure that you installing everything on the creative cd? Did u use the cd that was in the box or you downloaded it from the internet? I guess you missed something. Please be sure that you installed everything that exactly related to your device. You can check the software from http://support.creative.com/Products/Pro... . Do not forget to install latest firmware.
I have installed EVERYTHING from the cd that came with the product a couple times, and even tried going back and repiaring the files. Also, I can't install the latest firmware because my play won't connect and in order to install you need to be connected. Thats my problem, I cannot get the pc to recognize that the zen is plugged in. I followed the begiining instucrtions and deleted the zen device and now only MTP device found pops up, i'm in more of a jam. I'v read it a couple times to try re-installing windows media 11 as it helps with the mtp files. It has drivers for mtp i believe. Right now i'm so lost =( its horrible, iv been at this all night
YALL KEEP TLKIN ABOUT THIS FIRMWARE DO YALL NOT UNDERSTAND THAT WE CANT UPGRADE THE FIRMWARE IF WE CAN NOT CONNECT OUT MP3 OMG THIS IS RIDICULOUS
didn't help, but thanks. right now i'm re-installin windows media player 11 to see if that helps. The zen will turn on when hooked up and battery will charge my the computer only flashes MTP device found
then when i go to device manager i get it flashing between no drivers installed and code 10 error. None of the creative programs, sync manager or windows media will recognize t as being plugged in, just keep saying plug it in.
