Have been using a sandisk extreme III 2.o gb compact flash for my canon rebel xti Has worked fine but decided to try the new sandisk extreme III compact flash 30 mb gb memory card. The camera said there was a problem with the cf card and to replace it, so I put the 2.0 gb card in and am now getting the same message. What should I do?

SOURCE: Err CF

Observe the connector inside camera, using a flashlight. If there is a bent pin take the camera to service immediately. Don't turn it on any more as we did in one similar case - creating a short circuit that damaged the camera electronics and voided the warranty.

If no visible problems, remove battery and leave it out overnight.

SOURCE: I recently recieved a Canon

Hello there,
there are clear pictures on page 29 and 29 of the instruction manual. The card will only go in one way -so don't attempt to force it .

SOURCE: Sandisk CF card is in canon rebel xti and eject

Hello, and thanks for using FixYa.

Try pushing down the card a bit, see if the eject button sticks up.

If the eject button did not stick up now and when you inserted the card originally, then most likely the card has been inserted upside down. This may have also caused damange to the card reader on the camera or possibly the pins. And the camera might be unable to read cards in the future.

In that case it would be difficult to remove, you need something to grab it from the edge and pull out.

If the eject button sticked out originally, but the card still appears stuck. See if you can push the button further down, if this doesn't help, you still need to obtain something to grab the card from its edges to get it out. Avoid the top and the bottom of the card.

It is okay to pull out the card, the eject button only pushes the card from inside the slot, it doesn't hold on it.

I have Sandisk Extreme III 4GB memory card why after i shooting photo the file is cannot read?

Make sure your camera is compatible with a 4GB flash card. Some only take 1 or 2 GB cards. If that isn't the issue, format your card inside the camera with the camera's format utility.

(WARNING: After running this low level format tool,
the whole USB flash disk surface will be fully erased.

Err CF

I had the same message on my EOS/Rebel XTI and the camera shop concluded that one of the pins where the card is inserted into the camera had come loose. They sent the camera back to Canon for repair. Luckily, it was still under warranty at the time.

Choosing to shoot Raw images

If you have Rebel XTi (400D), press Menu button.

Under the 1st Tab, the first option is "Quality" - select it. You should see 8 options from "fine L" to "Raw". Move selection using the arrow keys, and select RAW.

Canon Rebel XTI EOS

there are two chances: 1. your card is not compatible and 2. the card is defective.
good CF-cards you can get from SANDISK. I use them myself w/o a hassle and they are very fast......
keep your hands of Lexar or other Offbrand cards. they are not worth the money you pay for and also too slow. Sandisk cards have a real transfer rate of up to 40MB/s
