Need drivers hope someone out there can help me... i have a acer computer with a lite on dvd rw shw-1635s . it worked great til last week not everytime i try to put a disk in it tell me i missing a driver and i must unstall the drivers and reinstall them but i have no disk how can i fix this?

if you physically unplug your cd/dvd restart your computer then reconnect it this should activate the found new hardware wizard or it might have a dirty lens you could use a liquid type lens cleaner read the instructions before applying put 2 or 3 drops on a cd/dvd then run the cd/dvd player

make sure that the dvd rw is getting enough consistent power test all leads that are attached to the cd rom including electical extensions and make sure they have a secure connection or just replace them there might be bad/faulty or
your drivers may have been corrupted or you might have a virus run your antivrus program
you might have to physically unplug the leads for this dvd rw then plug them back in this will activate found new hardware wizard or
you might have to uninstall then reinstall your cd rom or uninstall the driver then reinstall for this device

Try using the new software called Ashampoo Burning Studio 7. It is a free download from the Ashampoo site. It is known to solve alot of writer problems.

Hello all, I have a LiteOn SHW-1635S IDE DVD/CD burner running on Microsoft XP Media Center OS with firmware version YS0Z Driver version 5.12535.0 The Hardware is Gateway GT 5058 approx 2 yrs old For some reason, this drive will not recongnize ANY rd-r media of any kind . I have tried the flashes.
