See if it has thermal fuses once you open it up. unplugged of course. Check the side that does not work for continuity of that fuse. Replace it if it is open and check the location to see if it is located too close to an element. Either crimp using copper brass or steel crimps or use ceramic wire nuts to attach the new one.

Also look for a broken element. Depending where the break is, sometimes you can make it functional by overlapping the broken area, and that will make decent contact, or sometimes you need to add a metal ferrule and crimp it down.

Delonghi 4 slice toaster not working on one side

Question moved from Laundry Dryers to Delonghi Toaster.

The most likely cause is a broken element. Remove the case and check with a multimeter.

The left side of the toaster does not stay engaged...if I hold it down it heats up but it doesn't stay down ..it doesn't catch.

There are two printed circuit boards inside front of toaster - One PC board for each side. The circuit board on the side that won't latch down in the "toasting" position , is defective. Now, does anyone have access to a schematic for this toaster?

Our Dualit toaster doesn't work. The red light doesn't work. I have changed the fuse in the socket with a working one. The timer turns normally. Yet none of the heating units heats...

You need to replace the timer-contactor. This part is acting both as timer and electrical contactor. It consist from electrical contact moved with springs on and off. Due to electrical load and extreme heat these contact have been tear out thus they can not contact properly and in your case they don't contact at all.
So from the web page of dualit or ebay you can order A new timer contactor and replace it.

Krups toast supreme 4-slice toaster stopped working

The element has burnt out, IF you can get another it is worth repairing, IF NOT, then it is time for a new one.

One side not working

Sounds like the element has failed. Not much you can do as even though they cost more than a 2 slice, parts availability is slim and none.

Only toasts part of bread

The solution I got from the FixYa team was: "Get a new toaster." Which is how I ended up with 4 new toasters that don't work. I'm glad I didn't PAY for THAT answer.
