HORIZONTAL PICTURE I HAVE HAD AN RCA XS TV FOR OVER 12 YRS. IT HAS A BEAUTIFUL PICTURE. ONE DAY I HAD SEVERAL TEENAGERS OVER AND MYSTERIOUSLY THE NEXT DAY MY CHANNELS WOULDN'T DISPLAY ON THE TOP RIGHT HAND CORNER. I ALSO NOTICED THAT THE PEOPLE ON TV LOOKED SHORT AND PUDGY. AFTER SURFING SEVERAL CHANNELS I NOTICED THAT IT WAS THE HORIZONTAL PICTURE. I HAVE WORKED WITH THE MENU BUTTON, BUT CANNOT FIX THE PROBLEM. THE MARGIN TO THE LEFT AND RIGHT ARE CUT OFF. PLEASE HELP.

LOL nothing to do with the teenagers as your hoping it is?? LOL It about the life of the tv your talking about to have vert. sweep problems and at this point not a serviceable thing you can fix! As there are no serviceable parts inside these sets and ther is a HI voltage issue you need to know before you start tinkering with a set like this. Its a problem as i said in the verticle sweep circuit and is probably the capacitors in the circuit causinging the problems. Get real and enoy your kids while you can and try not to blame all that goes wrong on them even if it seems it may be from them. They didnt cause this problem!

probably you have glycol leaking on the anode lead, in one off the pic tube, check for wets spots, or pay attention on the chassi where the hv leads are located, be careful

Hehehe Its all in a matter of taste I like sony and Mitsubishi. You like RCA you get what you pay for. These sets are good for the L401 in the horizontal drive circuit to cause your problem as well as a blown fuse and a shorted horizontal output trasistor and the flyback transformer. if its anything Im thinking off the repair cannot be done by a handi person and should be taken to a pro and will cost in the range of150 to 225.00 for this repair. good Luck

stairmaster 4000 won't turn on. It has a reset box attached. The cord to an outlet runs out from that box. I press in the long needle like red plastic button. The red light on the rest box turns on (red light), but only stays on for a minute, then shuts off. No power goes to the machine even for that one minute. I would guess a fuse was blown, but I am just guessing... and I do not know where this fuse would be, even if it had one.
