Uniden Tru8885-2 I had purchased this set over a year ago. Last month, lightening wiped out the base so I purchased a base with one phone, but the older phones do not work with the new base. I can't de-register the older phones because all I get is "out of range." How can I de-register, then register or just register? Is there a way to get them to work or have I screwed up in buying the new set? Please help me out here!! Thanks!!!! Susan

The older Tru8885 phones will not work with the new base unit. My recommendation would be to ebay those and then buy new ones or find replacements for your new base on ebay also.

The very same thing has happened to me AGAIN! I don't remember ever returning that base, buit I'm not sure why I have Tru-8885-2 because the old base I have just says Tru8885. Would that have worked? This base I bought through Ebay says Tru8885-3HS. All I get is "out of range" even when I'm right next to the base just like before. Any help would be much appreciated!

My base unit unit keeps flashing 8-88, and the hand sets all say searching

If there is an error code with an E followed by a number or "88" displays/flashes it would be an internal issue in the base unit. Uniden does offer a limited 1 year warranty (Covers Manufacture Defects ONLY, if caused by a power surge or power outage or any other type of damage that is not a Manufacture Defect this is not covered under warranty) off the proof of purchase. The proof of purchase is required for warranty service.

How do i recharge my uniden phone battery

Phone's "Status Light" Not Illuminating or Battery Failing to Charge

  • 1.Check that the base unit's AC adapter is plugged into the both the base unit and electrical outlet firmly.

  • 2.Wipe the base unit's handset holder's connectors and the connectors on the bottom of the handset with a soft cloth/rag or pencil eraser to remove any loose dust and dirt from the metal connectors.

  • 3.Place the handset firmly in the base unit holder until the "Status Light" illuminates, indicating the battery is charging.
4.Replace your Uniden cordless phone's battery, by purchasing a compatible battery from an electronic supply store or directly from Uniden. Turn your phone's handset unit over and remove its battery door. Lift the phone's battery pack up and gently unplug the battery's wire connector by pressing in on the connector's side and pulling the connector free from the phone's circuit board. Battery installation is the reverse of removal.

    Cordless phone charginng

    Uniden has historically had problems.

Shelf life prior to sale affects the phone. They over produce consequently letting unused inventories sit around and wear out before purchase.

With my last Uniden, the wire unravels on the inside and I was unaware and that was just last month.

I went out and bought a Vtech.

Hurlewan Your washer is still under manufacturer's warranty which is one full year. If it has Kenmore's name on it you do not need proof of purchase. The only thing you need is your mother-in-law's home phone number at time of purchase because Sears keeps all their records based on phone numbers. Good luck, Gendos post back....
