Same issue. Playing Fable II pub games and GTA4. It will play fine for about 5 min. Then it starts to get all multicolored--like NES would look like when the game cartridge was dirty. Then after a couple of seconds it will go black. I can still hear background noise and music sporadically, but can't see anything.

I was playing NBA2k9 and half way through the game the players began to look like cartoon characters. All images became unclear then lines began to appear on the bottom of the screen. I turned it off and when I restarted it there was nothing on the screen. I switched my av cords into another input and it came on but with poor quality but did work the rest of the night. The following day I purchased a new av cord but could never again get a picture to appear, even though my x box seems to be running normally.

I was playing CoD5 on xbox LIVE and then it started to get a little fuzzy and distorted picture, so I shut it down for the night and the next day I got the black screen with the white dots or commonly known as THE WHITE DOTS OF DEATH! I haven't talked to XBOX about this problem as it is about midnight here. But I'm seeing in my research online about this problem ppl are having, but I'm not seeing any solutions that don't cost me money or alot of time(5-7 weeks) I'm seeing a very high number of video failure at rates that MS doesn't want to deal with this problem saying it's the consumers fault. I owned one of the first ever PS2's for 5 yrs before I had any problem. Can't MS fix the XBOX 360 once and for all? I'm calling for a petition for MS to take responsiblity for faulty wiring to AV ports and fix them for all their loyal customers! No Refurbished consoles, No 5-7 week waits for another failed console to rack up the failure rate of this console!! Who's with me? Post here!!! We are going to get our consoles replaced, for free, and fast dammit!

1. Get 3 towels then switch your Xbox 360 on.
2. Wrap the Xbox 360 in the towels [Note - You must cover the WHOLE Xbox otherwise it won't work].
3. Leave your xbox for 25 mins in the towels.
4. When the 25 mins is over take off the towels of and let your Xbox 360 to cool for 20 minutes, enjoy fixed gaming for the next 4-7 days. Once you get a blank screen repeat this process.

[Why Overheat it?]
When overheating it you attempt to solder the dis-connected wires back to the motherboard.
I recommend getting it fixed instead.

[What does it Fix?]
This fixed the Red Ring of Death, and the Blank Screen of Death

I do not take responsibility for this. This is mainly for those without warranty or money to repair.

The premise is to wrap the towel around the 360 and to let it heat up. This will weaken solder points and hopefully re-join broken connections. The problem with this method is that you have no control over what solder points are weakened and there is no way to prevent further damages caused by the heat. It is better to send a 360 in for repair with the three year warranty that MS put on the 360s, because if you try the towel method and then send it in for repairs, they will know by the solder points being misshapen and it will void your warranty forcing you to pay for the repairs.

The thing where you overheat it to reconnect the weakened connections worked perfectly. I had the fuzzy lines for 2 days then tried that for 20 minutes and now it works perfect again. Thanks S0lv3d!!

If it's just Saints Row, or in these other people's cases, just any single game causing the problem, then it's either:

A. There's a problem with your disk, thus you should get another copy

B. Your Xbox 360 is malfunctioning, and doesn't read the disk properly. In which, if the case is that the screen went completely away or doesn't/barely shows in other games, then your 360 has secluded to one of the common Xbox 360 errors. In which you must send it to Microsoft, or use a temporary trick: The Towel Trick (Found on Youtube)(Works, Tried it several times)

Try updating your Xbox 360 console on Xbox Live with the game inside the disctray. Once you join Xbox Live it will automatically prompt you for an update, all you need to do is to confirm.

SAINTS ROW ON XBOX 360 Freezes on loading screen when the game starts

It might be a corrupt game disc and you'll need to return it and get a new copy. If that's not it try to see if you can upload it to your hard drive. If that doesn't work then you might have to consider formating your hard drive because it might have corruption on that drive. If you are going to try to format, then by all means get a memory unit to transfer data to a new hard drive preferrable.

Hope this helps.
