Lost installation disk for my Lexmark x1240 all in one printer. I'm trying to scan a text document to edit but tells me I need to download/install OCR software in the OCR folder on that disc. Possible to get software w/out spending money?

To scan documents for editing and saving as PDF file, you will need to install the Lexmark OCR scan software on your computer. The Lexmark scan software (no downloadable version) is only available on the installation disc that came with your printer. If you lost the disc, please contact Lexmark Technical Support Center for assistance.

To install the OCR scan software from the printer installation CD:

1. Insert CD into the CD-ROM drive. If the installation screen open, click Cancel.
2. Double-click on My Computer / Computer.
3. Right-click on Lexmark XXXX CD and select Open.
4. Double-click on OCR.
5. Double-click on Setup.exe to install the OCR software. Your operating system will then determine the language in which it is installed.

The Lexmark OCR scan software for scanning and editing documents is only available in the installation disk (no downloadable version). If you lost the disk, please contact Lexmark Technical Support Center for assistance.

i cannot find my disc for my 1300 lexmark printer. how can i down load it so that i may re- set up my printer?

Yes you install without the disk ,first you need to click here
then type X1240 you get option lexmark X1240 ...and then choose the OS and download the driver file and install in on your computer ......

Here ya go. Just choose your operating system. Be sure to unplug the printer from the USB, and only plug it in once the on-screen instructions tell you to plug it in.
