Hi, assuming you're using Gimp on Windows, you can download the Help file(s) at this location:

http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=121075&package_id=138737&release_id=572295

Download the file called gimp-help-2-2.4.0-eng-setup.exe and then install it on your system. You should then be able to hit the Help button and have the user manual show up.

Saving files in the new gimp

This has something to do with copyright, trademark and Gimp can't use it.
That is the only way I know how to use it is to save it to the Gimp format, then open a program Photo Shop maybe, and convert that way.
Gimp is a great program, it's a shame we have to do this. Maybe in the future it will change
Good Luck

How do I email pics using gimp?

The GIMP is an image manipulation program, not a mailer.

After doing whatever you're doing to the image file, save it to disk. Then open up your usual email program and attach the file.

Need help with missing libgimpui-2.0-0.dll file

The problem is you didn't completely uninstall Gimp before you installed it again so the Gimp install file got confused when it found some residual files or registry keys from a previous install and thus it skipped installing some files (libgimpui-2.0-0.dll was one of them for sure) You need to completely uninstall Gimp before you can install it again properly. Get a copy of Revo uninstaller from the link below and use it to uninstall Gimp for you. You should be good to go after that.

Not detecting saved files

Puzzling. The "real" answer probably has to do with the location to which the file is saved, the command used to save the file, and the file type. That said, I would first try locating the file using the freeware application Everything (allowing it time to index the files on the C drive). It should reveal the location of the file which you should take not of. And it will tell you the file type. You should be able to drag and drop the located file into the opened Gimp application. That event should confirm that Gimp can read the saved files (and that such are not corrupted.) Gimp may simply be configured to not look in the directory where it is saving files but rather to another location.

Gimp by default saves pictures in a file format unlikely viewable by other picture displaying programs. This forces a user to export it to more standard file types via the use of Gimp plugins. And Gimp can import files as well. This is discussed in the link below:

How do I upload picture to gimp?

GIMP is a program saved on your computer, you don't need to upload an image, but to simply open an image using GIMP. There are two ways to accomplish this:

File Browser
While viewing your files, right-click on your image, and place the mouse over "Open With". This will bring up a new menu, from which you select "GIMP Image Editor". If GIMP is not an option, select "Other Application". This will bring up a list of applications for you to choose from. Scroll down until you see "GIMP Image Editor", select it, then click "Open".

From GIMP
The second method is by running GIMP first, then clicking "File", then "Open". From there, find your image, select it, and then click "Open".

I can be more specific or provide screenshots if necessary. Hope this helped!

I use Linux myself but if you've never used Gimp it's a great program. Considering what you pay for Photoshop it's nothing short of a miracle.
Hope it helps.
