Hi
I have recently purchased a New Sony Bravia TV and was wondering if it is possible to connect it through my Marantz PM-48 amplifier to make use of my stereo speakers so I get surround sound?
If this can be done could you tell me which connections I would need to use?

Re:
Look on the back of the TV and there should be L/R audio outputs (white & red), connect this to a spare input of your amp via a connecting lead eg. AUX or any other input except PHONO.

Yes, please start with attempting to plug the sound system input into the appropriate inputs on your smart tv and then check the sound of various channels on your tv. If this does not work, please reference the manual for the sound system in order to get your sound working. And lastly, if that doesn't work, I would suggest working with your local Geeksquad/Bestbuy via a home service.
Normally all Dabs will have the facility to connect with TVs. Your Bravia will have a line in connection at its back or side panel. Check for it. You can connect this connection to the Line out of the audio device you want to connect; using an AV cable; and select the input to TV to Av, using the remote control. Seek assistance of any service technician; if you feel any difficulty.

The Bravia needs the video input to be changed to PC when you connect a computer to the Bravia. You still need to press FN + F5 to divert the laptop video data to the video port on the laptop for the TV.
That actually happened to a tv of mine once-i had some clear diet soda get spilled on front, I didn't clean it out(just off of screen) and I corroded the contacts on the lcd itself. if it is a recent problem get it cleaned/clean it yourself as soon as possible to prevent damage to screens connections. hope this was helpful, good luck. Welcome to Fixya. Yes you can use your Sony Bravia TV. After you connect the Laptop to the Tv press FN + F5 to toggle the display between the laptop and the TV.
Hi Is this a new TV going into an old connection or an old TV going into a new connection? If this is a new connection I would get a hold of Comcast and make sure they have registered the boxes IP address. If this is a new TV then I would go into the menu and select the TV inputs. Go through these until you see an image. If still nothing then the new TV is defective. Good luck
The DVD player may have multiple output formats that can be displayed. Sounds like you have the composite output selected when you have the component output selected on the DVD player. Check the menu options on the DVD player and confirm they match the way you have the player connected
