Vertical Green/Purple Lines on lower half of screen
Occasionally, usually after tv is warm, and usually within 1 minute of putting the tv into 'mute' mode, the lower half of the screen changes to vertical green/purple lines on a black background.
The tv image is NOT seen behind these lines, only black. The top half of the screen continues to show normal tv moving picture.
Turning sound back on has no effect. Turning tv off then on is the only "fix".
The video source, cable or Satelite makes no, difference.
My repair shop assigned by the warranty company has no clue what part is causing the problem, so they don't know what to order. It could takes months to get my set back.

Line, faults & possible causes to LCD screen are given with illustrations. You can get an idea about the fault to an extent.
You possibly have a failing hi-voltage module or fly-back transformer going bad. If it has a fly-back transformer, It's not worth the trouble. Some repair shops will sell you a module. Call a repair shop for help.
Sounds like your YBL-Y Buffer lower board is going out. There are 3 boards here. The Y buffer upper which controls the top half of the display, The Y buffer lower controls the bottom half and the Y-SUS main control those two boards. They work in unison. Usually if one goes out you have to replace all. You can also get lucky and just repalce the YBL and all may be well. Now if they are vertical lines up and down the OSD-On screen display, then this is indicitive on dry solder joints on the D, G E, F boards. Hope this helps...
