Question about Electrolux ER7926B Bottom Freezer Refrigerator

Fridge stops working

This has now happened to me 3 times over the last 6 months, and i'm trying to find a workable solution The Fridge will loose all temperature, the freezer still works, but the fridge is at room temperature. The first time this happened an engineer came round to check it, he did replace somthing (think it may have been the thermostat). The second time, he came back checked the part he'd replaced and advised that it was still working and the solution was to switch off the freezer, let it de-frost, and then turn it back on. Admitadly this works. But is by no means a workable solution. He said that it would happen when the frezzer temperature was upset by putting too much unfrozen stuff in the freezer. when i ask how much is too much he advised about half a basket!! Firstly i need to find out if this is info is correct, as this is by no means a solution for me Secondly if this is not correct, the Fridge/freezer is under warrenty and i need to know how to resolve it. Thanks in Advance Angela Palfrey

Angela, You should not be limited to put unfrozen stuff in the freezer and enginner "solution" is not accepted as well. Poor cooling is often the result of a heavy frost build-up on the evaporator coils and it usually indicates a problem in the self-defrosting system. The refrigerator is supposed to self-defrost about four times on 24 hour period. In case that one of the components in the self-defrosting system fails (defrost timer, defrost thermostat or defrost heater)the refrigerator will continue to try to cool, but the quantity of frost builds up on the evaporator coils will prevent the circulating fan to draw air over the coils and with no air flow over the coils, cooling in the refrigerator compartment is quite limited. Since your refrigerator is still under warranty, you should insist for a complete solution !!!! Good luck !

RS267LBSH The refrigerator stopped working. The technician came and replaced the compressor. It works for 1 1/2 month and failed again. He came the second time and replaced the evaporator. A month

your getting ripped off try the defrost timer sounds like it is getting stuck, it operates on a 24 hour basis cycling between defrost, and turning compressor on and fan to cool the fridge

Slightly different model looks the same JFC2087HRS French Door. Refigerator section stops cooling and a 24 hour defrost gets it going again. Problem is I had it fixed for this about a month after I got...

after that many repairs you we can say that it has a defrost problem. the freezer will not defrost it self if off for 24 hr . but if the coil is defrosted then we know that we have a complete defrost . now I would replace the derfost terminator and if the problem came back replace the adapitive defrost control .. now with your history if either has not been replaced the replace both of them and your done . this should correct problem .. mm .. hope this helps .. ****

Whirlpool Gold refrigerator is not making ice. Just stopped 3 days ago for no apparent reason. Fridge is 6 months old.

as long as the fridge is working properly the only thing that it could be would be the icemaker...the fridge should still be under factory warranty if it's 6 months old so they should cover it

Westinghouse 1080P 42" LCD TV - HDMI stopped working

I know this is late, but this happens frequently. If anyone else has the same problem try unplugging the TV for 60 seconds. Plug it back in and then hold the power button down for 30 seconds. That will reset the TV.
You should see the Westinghouse logo come up and the HDMI should work. This has happened twice with my TV in 1 year.

Yes, listen to regular fridge for the sound of the compressor. do you hear it now? does it fill warm? Do you hear a clicking noise? Ifso, you'll need a potntial start relay, or a 3 in 1 start kit 15.00

Refrigerator will not get cold, but freezer works

Make sure your fan is working ,its located behind the freezers back wall. If it is working the vent from the freezer down to the refrigerator may be blocked (usually with ice). With out a fan you have no circulation but your freezer may look likes its working,it may last 3 days. Also if you can move everything out unplug it turn it off w/ doors open untill all traces of ice are gone this will free up any clogged tubes. Good luck.
