My CyberHome CH DVD 300 does not play - it shows a 'Loading' sign and after that there is a blue screen which just doesnt go. At times, the root menu is shown but there is no way to get the play button to work. Can someone please advise what may be the problem. And also if there is a repair service at Chennai, India ? Thanks

I have the same problem as it starts to load and then says BAD DISK. It was intermittent if I kept reloading and then it would eventually work. Now it has given up.

You're right about the units being unreliable. I've experienced this as well as read alot of posts with the same sentiment. It seems that cyberhome has some software issues that they haven't fully sorted out. As you mentioned you need to spend the extra money next time. As far as getting yours to play, depending on the problem, and I have no idea, I have seen units which react this way due to a sloppy laser control arm. This does not allow precise enough control of the head. I do not have a source for the parts but I have fixed other more expensive units where the parts were available especially PS-2s. Might be something to try if you have the time, expertise and determination. Good luck.

I load a disk, "loading"

The laser head has been covered by dust and it no longer recognizes the return beam - you will have to clean it : use one of those cleaning disks. If the problem isn't fixed completely then the dust has been baked on the laser lens and the player is dead - unfixable, time for a new one.

I keep getting a Bad Disk error when loading DVDs that I know are fine. When there's no disk loaded, all I see is the blue load screen with the message "loading" in the upper left

there is a ribbon cable in the DVD player that connect the moving laser head to the main circuit board. When this cable becomes damaged from moving over time, it will claim that your DVD is bad (even though it is not). Best to scrap the player and buy a new one.

Dvd's won;'t play

The laser lens may need to be cleaned with rubbing alcohol and cotton swab. Just remove the cover of the player and clean the lens. This usually corrects the problem. If cleaning doesn't help, the laser is defective

Cyberhome Ch- DVD 300

Your advice was very helpful. After two+ months of tooling around and navigating around the menu blind I was on the brink of trashing it.

At first I tried the stop button with a dvd in the player with no success. After taking the dvd out, turning in off/on then pressing the stop button for 20 seconds the screen turned blue as said.

This help saved me a great amount of fustation.

Thank You!
