Printer problem my printer wasnt used for a long time, then when i connected it again didnt have installation disc, but got drivers off internet, worked fine for a couple of days then decided to print out strange characters instead of print or pictures, also keeps printing page after page, even though i type in only one page, tried deleting and reinstalling lots of time but still the same, i am running windows xp

After Unistalling the old drivers make sure you delete all old printers from "control panel-printers and faxes" then disconnect the printer from the computer restart and only then reinstall! If the problem ain't in the printer itself that ought to fix it. Good Luck

Install 5940 printer without disc

connect the printer to the pc (internet connection is compulsary), then the pc (plug and play (pnp))is automatically guide you. otherwise download printer s/w driver from hp site and install the driver.

I have a hp psc 1210v printer and i have the disc but the wizard dont pop up when i put the disc in and a usb new found hardware pops up every time i turn it on it didnt do that before when i had it...

Hi,

Just you need to do first uninstall the printer and setup again. If you are installing for the first time. Make sure that the printer is connected to the computer through a USB or any communication cable.

Even make sure that the router for internet is turned on and is set for public discovery. Some time we set it up as private and your printer will not recognize it as it cannot detect the connection.

Routers sometime have a small button on the back which says WiFi or other such option, you may even have to reset your router by pressing a small button on the back.

When you retry the to setup printer make sure you have installed all he drivers from the CD.

New computer lost disc to download printer can you

You can download the drivers from the internet and install them. Extract the files from the zip file and run Setup. This would be like installing from a CD.

Click here to open the driver webpage. Select the driver file according to your OS.

If you have OS newer than XP then there is no driver available. You can try the XP driver in this case also.
