I got pushed in a pool with my phone in my pocket. I took it apart & dried it well. Put it back together and I am able to call but can't hear the other persons phone ringing, busy, voicemail or if anyone answers, there is no sound. The same if someone calls me, it rings, I try to answer & nothing. I can send & receive text messages. I am able to hear it ring. When I tried to open the phone, I broke the plastic piece for the headset at the top. It is still in there with the top part missing. Would this have anything to do with the problem. Please help!

Re: Not able to talk
You might have severed a wire that's connected to the phone's speaker. You were very lucky to save your phone as much as you did.
I don't think there's anything you can do yourself, but you probably won't have to replace the whole thing, if you find a cheap place to service it. Just some minor work.
I find this one of the main problems with living with celular phones these days, you can't push people into a pool anymore.
If anyone comes up with a waterproof Cell phone, that person would be a milionaire ;]
Good luck!

To be honest, the phone is probably fried. BUT.. If you want you can try to take the phone apart and use and old tooth brush with some water and just scrub clean the inside of the phone, circuit board and all. Wait for the phone to dry and then put it back together. What this does is it takes all the chlorine that dried on the circuit board and it removes it. I have done this before myself, and I got my phone to work. So it is possible but see what you can do.
I forget my LG Vu (CU920) was in my pocket and I jumped in the pool. I was in the pool for about 10 minutes before I realized. It was full of water. I took the battery out as soon as I realized it. HERES HOW I FIXED IT!!!!!!!!!
Step 1- I took it home, removed the screws on the back panel, and removed it. Now the entire back casing was off.
Step 2- I put the phone and battery (separate) in a bowl of uncooked rice. Sounds crazy but this absorbs all of the water. I left it in there for 2 days.
Step 3- After 2 days, I put the battery back in and everything turned on. Only problem was there was a big bubble in my LCD screen. I then took the phone apart further by popping of the front casing of the phone. I then try to get underneath the LCD to air it out, but I accidentally broke the LCD screen (inside the phone...not plastic outer screen).
Step 4- I went online and purchased a new LCD screen for around $40 from a cel phone parts website. I got it and installed it which was not too hard. You just have to remove all the visible screws (i believe there are 6) from the back side. Then pop off the front cover and the rest is pretty obvious.
Step 5- Put it all back together and it all worked again!
Step 6- My battery soon died after of all this...Im guessing from the water damage. I bought a new one online for around 20 bucks. Now the phone is good as new.
All in all spent 60 bucks and revived the Vu from water damage!!!!!!!!!
Sometimes when electronics are dropped in water, you can still use the. Circut boards have a silicon coat over the circut boards for instances like this. Depending on how long it was in the water, you may be able to still use it. Let the phone dry out for about 24 hrs (take out battery and back cover) then try to replace the battery and start it back up. If it doesnt turn on the circuts were affected and it broken.
caring for the touch screen includes touching the screen with clean and DRY hands., if your phone fell in the water, it will likely damage the touch screen.. contact your nearest LG repair center.. i hope your phone will soon be fine..
have the phone check fully the microphone needs to be replaced and the earpiece as well........the housing by the earpiece might be block so take a small flatbit screwdriver and have try to to clear it.
There's still water in it. You'll need to take the battery out and let it dry another two days. I got my phone wet one time and it took a week before it worked again.
