First put the charger plug in the Tab, I just tried mine that was sitting on the desk, even though I held the power on button for a long time it would not start. I pluged the charger in so the red charging light is on Tried to start and it worked perfectly. i.e. the voltage level is very critical, if it is a fraction low it won't start.
The same thing happened to my 2006 Aveo. Once you do the above find the lock and the screw that holds it in (they will both be in the bottom of the door). Put the lock back in place, put blue Loctite on the screw and screw it back in place and this problem will not repeat itself.
i managed to put it back in place when it broke but it still wouldnt unlock so i used a tooth pick to pick the inside in place and i managed to unlock it but after that my unlock button never worked again
