I have a Kenmore Elite model 20992992. The automatic dispensor for the bleach and fabric softener isnt emptying. Water is spraying on the back of the inside of tub area during the drain cycle. It doesnt want to drain and spin in the wash mode but I can manually turn the selector to rinse/spin and make it drain and rinse.
I havent removed anything yet...It sounds like a hose has burst, but could it be something w/ the timer/selector?
I have the same problem - 90 series washer fabric softener/bleach dispenser won't drain. How can I access the "service flash" 26-747 ? I called Sears - NO joy. I googled it - no joy.........

Stara, sounds like you have a couple of issues going on here. On the model you posted there was a service flash on the dispensor. They redesigned it to provide an additional air gap for release. There was also a flash on the bleach hose splitting and leaking. The service flash numbers are 26-747 for the despensor and 26-746 for the hose leak. It almost sounds like your transmission is not going into it's nuetral drain. After completeing the agitation, it should drain for about 90 seconds before spinning. This would be a gearcase problem. The gearcase is covered for a period of 5 years, part only. You might want to check where you bought this unit and see if the parts are covered under warranty. Including the dispensor and hose. You would have to pay the labor..Hope this info helps

Re:
Cat has it correct, the parts are on my van. I would also check the timer as there is also a service flash on a timer that doesn't allow the rpm's above the critical spin of 430 rpms.

The dispenser itself could be clogged, misaligned, or damaged, and unable to dispense the detergent, bleach, or fabric softener properly. Inspect the dispenser for any damage and replace if necessary.
The dispenser slides out . There are plastic slideson both sides of the outer dispenser tray which run into grooves internally . be careful not to force its removal as you will damage the tray
If it is just water then it could be OK. Most companies use a water stream to flush the bleach and also the fabric softener out of the dispenser systems and into the washer tubs. Some water left over is probably normal as long as the bleach or fabric softener has dispensed.
For the FAV6800A or FAV9800A: If you have no water flow to the Softener dispenser or Bleach dispenser see if you can turn the dispenser valves on Service Mode and verify water flow to the reservoirs. Enter Service Mode (page 14 of the Service manual) by Pressing Enviro Plus and Spin Only keys (simultaneously) for three seconds or until the console beeps. Now go to page 16 to Service Manual and enter Board Output Test by pressing the Delicates key. This will lock the lid. Now press the Wrinkle Control Key Pad on the console. The Control Board will send 120VAC to the Fabric Softener dispenser water valve. Did you hear the solenoid hum? If so we will now need to turn on the Cold Water Inlet Valve and see if water flows to the dispenser. Now press the Spin Only key this will turn on the Cold Water inlet valve after 5 seconds press the Offkey. The washer will unlock.Check to see if water did flow to the fabric dispenser reservoir. If you heard the Fabric dispenser valve hum then most likely 120VAC was applied to the solenoid. If water did not flow then the Fabric dispenser valve is stuck closed if you heard it hum.
The Bleach/Fabric dispenser water valve is an assembly and is not repairable you have to replace. Final technical troubleshooting as a technical owner of the machine would be to take my DVM and verify 120VAC from the Control Board to the Fabric dispenser solenoid. See page 36 lower left hand corner is the Bleach/Softener dispenser valve. Here is the Service Manual for reference. Sears Parts Direct for reference. The Part Number for the Dispenser Valve is 25001043 you can order from this site or search the internet for best price try appliancezone.com…
You can remove the Fabric Softner to clean see page 33 of the Service Manual…Rich
hiya was a bit puzzled at this one ? but will try to help not certain re your machine about bleach in dispensor but consulted the wife about bleach in our machine and no where in the manual does it mention use of bleach only softeners ? however you mention dispensor does not dispense ? try this? remove/pull out drawer and clean out the machine where drawer fits of any residue powder alsi the softener dispensor remove from drawer and ensure the cap is good fit on the dispensor tube ? if loose? then the dispensor will not work as it is emptied of softener//bleach by syphon effect ie as like toilet flush? as water enters rises to tor of tube then the fluid in compartment is syphoned along with water that is entering on rinse? cycle so if no syphon? water will o/flow/fill the drawer on l/h side and may o/flow leak from drawer ?? hope this helps? and you understand the syphon effect for using softeners ? ps i may be mistaken about use of bleach but prior apologies if iam wrong
As you look at your dispenser. The Left compartment is for Detergent. The Right Front compartment is for the Fabric Softener Liquid. The Right Rear compartment is for Chlorine Bleach.
I'm sure you heard a small motor running from time to time during a cycle. That moves an "arm" which sends water to the different chambers during a cycle. Fabric softener is dispensed when water goes to that chamber and dilutes the fabric softener. That chamber then empties by a siphoning action.
If you want to narrow down the problem a little to help trouble shoot -- put some wet rags in and run the Rinse and Spin cycle with some fabric softener. If the softener is not dispensed, then you know that the water isn't being sent to that chamber properly.
If you are intrepid enough to take the top off your washer, do that and see if the arm appears to be moving during a normal cycle. Maybe the arm got dislodged or broken during the move.
If water isn't being diverted properly, I think this calls for a real repair person.
