Red Screen Hi I have a Panasonic Camcorder, Model No. NV-GS200 which has recently developed a fault. The fault is intermittent and appears in the following way: Mostly the picture appears fine, however on occasions, and this can happen anytime in the middle of filming, the viewfinder and/or the LCD screen will turn red but will still retain an image. Upon playback this 'redness' remains on the film at the point that it happened during recording. Any ideas please! Many thanks Jason Stagg

Since this is being recorded it is not a problem with the monitor or viewfinder. I believe that it is a problem with the imaging chip or the circuitry immediately after the image block. It actually sounds like a bad solder joint. If you are very good with tools and soldering, have magnifying glasses and a steady hand, you should be able to repair this. If you are not familiar with the repair of camcorders (and there are many tiny pieces to keep track of) there is probably little you can do to solve this problem. If you go to this website http://www.videotech.com for the price of shipping you can get a free estimate or you can get an estimate online at http://www.camcorderrepair.com I would think that the cost to repair this should be reasonable. Good luck.
