Question about Heating & Cooling

You should have a dedicated line that feeds the equipment power look at your main electrical panel or search around your equipment for a pull out disconnect switch or sometimes they will wire it to a light switch. by shutting down the main power and turning it back on it should reset anything.

This unit is a cooling unit only. I don't know what switch you are looking at but I don't think it's for the evap. cooler(swamp cooler). I am in the Phoenix, Arizona area and it's very common to have a evap. cooler and a seperate heat/cool system as on the hottest days the evap. cooler doesn't cool enough. I hope this helps. Please give me a positive rating. Thank you.

Remotes are a pain. Can you get into the unit to see the control box? You need to see if the unit has power. If its new enough it will have some diognostic lights so you can see if it has power. Without that its hard to diognose. Unit Model number is also helpfull. if it looks like the one on this picture it will be etched into a badge on one of the corner pillars. if its a plastic unit it will be on a sticker inside the unit

The reason the heater is cutting out is because it is getting too hot or it thinks it is too hot...
Check the filter and also that enough air vents are open so it can move enough air....make sure the gas pressure is correct and that the flame is not too high. Check that the blower is working correctly and starting up when it should. Check the post purge... make sure the blower is running to remove residual heat after the flame shuts down.
If all that checks out then you may have a bad sensor or control module, but they are much more difficult to troubleshoot.
Bottom line is that for some reason you are either getting too hot or the furnace is sensing too hot of temperatures and shutting down.

you need to turn off power supply to unit that works ok and leave other unit switched on and code it and test it then switch other unit back on
