Digital sourround sound goes on and off

The digital indicator light blinks on and off causing the sound to do the same. After a while the light indicator and sound completely stops. I have tried unplugging from the wall as the instructions indicates when all else fails. It works for a few seconds then starts the intermittent sound again. Not sure if this part is going bad in the unit. Does it need to go to the shop?

When you say the light and the sound goes away after a short time Im thinking that theres a power supply problem as if the fault was in the output or the processor two things wouldnt happen at once. Im thinking if you like the reciver YES to taking it into a repair shop for an estimate, as there are no user replacable or serviceable parts inside this unit. If you can find your owners manual, there is a # or address you can contact to find the closest authorized repair place. Good Luck

Model 32ld452c. Why is there a black screen and no sound?

Sounds like main digital board fault. These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/

I have a Emerson 32" LC 320 EM1F, When I press power button, green light flashes 12 times then red light comes on and goes to standby. What seems to be the problem? How can I fix it?

It sounds that the main digital board has damaged. 12 blinks indicates it. if you wish to know more check this link for more details about 12 blinks to Emerson TVs

I have a pioneer vsx 818 v amp, when I set it up we get noise / beeps etc from the surround sound speakers but then when playing a film in 5.1 we get no sound from the surround speaks ..driving me nuts !...

Hello,
To get sound out of your surround speakers, first off go through the receiver setup and make sure that is correct. Also, usually the best soundfields to use for sourround sound is PLII Movie or dolby digital. Next , make sure the source you are viewing is capable of outputting 5.1 sourround sound. Lastly, it is a good thing to remember that sourround speakers are only intended to reproduce sound effects. You certainly can override it so that all speakers play full range audio, but that is not the intention.

ZR80 Mini DV Digital Camcorder: I have a blinking red icon with a slash through it...

Sounds like the memory battery indicator. Does it look like a button battery with a slash? If it is, you probably cannot set the date and time also. It takes a CR 1616 button battery and goes in the window behind the main battery.

Rx 2700 dts keeps flickering on and off causing

Your symptom sounds like a poor digital connection. The receiver is probably configured to prefer the digital feed if both digital and analog are present from a given source. That it blinks the 'analog' indicator means it thinks the digital signal is degraded.

I believe you're using HDMI. If your cable box has either optical or coaxial digital outputs, try one or both and proceed from there. You could also certify the health of the receiver input that's failing by connecting another device (your Blu-Ray?) to it to test it out, or simply borrow its cable.

If the input works with another device THAT would indicate a problem upstream and external from the receiver - cable, output of the cable box. Optical cables are more finicky than coaxial and do not tolerate being routed in tight radious bends.

DTS isn't Dolby. Read up on it here - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DTS_(sound_system)

Try to connect TV AUDIO OUT to TV AUDIO IN or AUX IN on receiver, when you get sound from TV, select SURROUND mode on receiver.
