The last 2 times a cycle has completed and it's time to unload, I noticed the door holding the dish soap not open. Inside there is the remainder of the soap. Dishes are of course not cleaned properly. Is this a water temperature issue not opening the door or is the door activated by a timer. What would be my course of action. I am fully capable of dealing with the issue but would appreciate some guidance. Thank-you very much! Trevor
For verifining the exect reson for your problem, you can start with a very simple test- Place the dish soap on the bottom of the dishwasher and run it for a full cycle. In case dishes will not become claen, your problem is with the water temp. If dishes will become clean properly, the problem is with the detergent door that doesn't opened at time (operated by a wax motor that get its power from the timer).Maybe that by cleaning the detergent cup you will solve the problem. In case it will not -To gain access to the wax motor you should open door assembly-Find the wax motor (close to the detergent dispenser cup)and test with a multi-meter if it get power(following cycle's sequence). If it get power, you should replace the wax motor. If it doesn't get power the problem is with the timer. Good luck !!
Trevor, a single wax motor is used to activate the detergent cup cover and rinse aid from the reservoir. You will have to get inside the door. Using a test cord to 120V outlet attach the cord to the terminals of the wax motor. The plunger in the center of the motor should push out within 60 seconds releasing the door. If it doesn't push out you have a bad wax motor. If it does push out your problem would be with the board sending voltage to it. Be xtra carefull when doing this test, you will be working with a live cord. Make sure to have insulated clips on the end of the cord so they hold to the terminals..Hope this solves your problem.
Pour 2/3 cup of liquid chlorine bleach into the bleach compartment of the dispenser drawer of your Maytag Neptune front-loading washer.
Run your Maytag Neptune front-loading washer on the "Clean Washer" setting. Press "Start" to start the cycle.
Leave the door open once the cycle is complete to allow the inside of your Maytag Neptune front-loading washer to ventilate and air dry.
Look closely at the gray seal of the Maytag Neptune front-loading washer's door opening. This seal can have a buildup of debris or detergent residue.
Spray the seal with an all-purpose appliance cleaner and scrub away any debris or residue with a cloth or scrubbing pad. Dry with a clean cloth.
Remove the soap dispenser drawer. Press the release lever and lift it out to clean.
Take out the inserts and rinse them and the drawer thoroughly.
Wash with a mild soap and cloth to remove any residue. Dry thoroughly before replacing.
