Help my mp3 player is siading update or restore portable media center using pc application and i don't have a user manual what to do

So, what happened when you connected the thing to sync with a PC and rightclicked on the tool-tray item for the Gigabeat?  Maybe you got a menu about Upload Portable Media Center?  If not, go into applications and see if the gigabeat stuff doesn't happen to contain the bespoken user manual.  Open it...read it....  Usually there's a little button-sequence to prepare the player and another to restore the Portable Media Center program.  Happy discovering.
