Re: T.v. just shuts off
If myou checked with the sleep mode in the menu and its off then you have a problem. If yo0u just got it today and they want to come and take the set and fix it SAY NO you want a new set . Hope you didnt pay cash for it. It was from a store?? good. It unrealistic that you should buy a new set and not even get a day out of it. i would dispute the credit card stop[ payment on the check do what ever you gotta do to get a new set. most store will jump to replace it as they dont wanna lose there commissions.. Speak directly to the manager and make sure they know it started an hout after you plugged in the set. Good luck

sorry to have to inform you sounds like a bad motor windings? overheating after 20 minutes then shutting down after cool down about an hour it starts agin. A bad venting problem may have caused it?
Have you check screen power down could be it is setup to shut down as you say after 10 mins. Access power through control panel, change settings ie to 30 mins
Fingers Crossed>?
tv works for about 2 minutes, then shuts itself off. the red standby light flashes 50 times, then the tv. comes back on for approximetly 2 minutes then goes off again, only to repeat again
There are a few things you need to check here. 1. It could be that your computer power management is set to turn your monitor and harddrive off after 30 to 45 min.
If the computer is however working for 30 to 45 min while you doing stuff and it shuts off, the there is an internal problem "Hardware"
I would suggest you check to see if the power management is set to turn off monitor 30 min and harddrive after 45 min. IF that is not so, then we go on to the next test.
It could possibly be your processor fan is not working so once your processor gets over heated it shuts off the computer.
Turn off the computer, remove the case "this is only if you know what you are doing" with the case off, power on the computer and see if the processor fan is working.
You can get back to me and I can walk you through it.
There are many protective circuits inside the set that will shut it down if a problem is detected. It sounds like there are intermittant detections of problems and the "restart" temporarily clears the problem. If the unit is no longer under warranty, open up the back with the set unplugged and try reseating all of the boards and connectors. The trip may have jared a few things loose. Update this with the results.
There is a reset known as a 30/30/30 reset. Hold reset with power on for 30secs, unplug power while still holding reset for 30 secs, plug power in while holding reset for 30 seconds more and release, wait 30 secs or more for reboot. This should put it back to factory defaults regardless of brand. Set your IP manually on the PC to be 192.168.0.2 Open your web browser and type in the IP address of the router (192.168.0.1 by default). Enter the username (admin) and password (blank by default), and then click Ok or Log In
As far as fixing goes, you might as well get a new TV... Unless its a LARGE EXPENSIVE HOLY $%^# TV, It will cost more to fix, than to just buy a new one, unless its under warranty, which being an older model as that (or so im reading) It may not be covered.
Try unplugging the TV, and while unplugged, hold down the power button for a full minute (yes, with the plug NOT in the wall) after a minute, plug it back in, and try. Its a hard reset. If it still does not work, and you've tried different outlets, It's probably a repair issue, and you'll need to get someone to fix it, or just junk it :-/
