SOURCE: Crate bass amp bt220 limit led is flashing

You can reach the limiting IRRESPECTIVE of where the volume control is set when you have a guitar or other source that has HIGH output.

Guitars that have battery in them with internal amplifiers are an example of a high output guitar. Plain inductive pickups may require the volume control to be set at say 70% to reach limiting.

Please NOTE that the volume control is NOT linear, but is an "audio taper".

Limiting means you are probably driving it too hard. Many learn the hard way when speakers and thee power amp fail.

When the cone is driven too far beyond the pole pieces of the magnet, then the IMPEDANCE of the speaker becomes relatively low and can damage the power amp. The limiter tries to prevent this by sensing the current and or voltage and will back off the gain internally. This causes distortion when it happens.

SOURCE: Crate Bass Amp B100 - No sound.

Do you happen to have another speaker that you could hook up to speaker output? This would bypass the amps internal speaker and lf you get sound from that setup, it would mean either a jack failure or possible internal speaker problems. Please let me know.

Crate BX-160 Amp. Intermittent static / constant low 'raspberry' sound.

I would check C25 & 26. Make sure the solder has not broken.

I have a Fender Precision Bass Guitar serial #503122. I'm curious about its age and value? It is in excellent condition.

this should be a 1960 bass and there was 18,000 of them made so it is not rare but the questions that must be asked to put it in the rare category is the bass 100% original = this means everything /pots /pickups /tuners /frets /finish and then the overall functioning of the parts EX. bent tuner that turns restricted causing tuning problems / pots that cut out / input jack that's screwed up / buzzing or severely worn frets /and or fret board wear /worn finish on the body/neck so you must go down the list of everything to come to the overall condition of your bass then you can grade it by it's condition and then see where the basses category is (PRISTINE) =never used still tags & case (fine) = slightly used tags & case (excellent)= used but no finish chips scratches everything original & working so you get the picture I am curious about this because most players know there basses very well so this tells me that you have acquired this bass recently or that it belonged to a family member? and was passed down to you post back with more info/pictures of the bass I'd like to see it Stephen

Crate bx-100 bass amp powers up but no sound

I recommend to check your speaker with something else before anything else. Sometimes they rattle when the voice coil gets hot and warps but, sometimes the blow out completely and make no sound at all.

Put new string in a hohner steinberger bass very hard to turn tuner to pitch

You have stripped the threads on the string retainer part of the bridge adjusters. You will have to have it rethreaded with helicoils or buy a replacement which is $39

My guitar is great I love it but the built in fishman isys tuner is not tuning my guitar properly and when it tells me my guitar is in tune it is really not at all. Is there a way to fix this ? Please...

Hey There,
If its adjustable its worth checking if the Pitch of the tuner is set right (normaly changed by a + & - button) Any normal tuner should be set to 440 which is standard Pitch.
Hope this is of any help
