I have a Toshiba, however, I can press the volume button higher, but as soon as I let go, the volume goes down to zero. Great picture -- no sound. Any information would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

i realize this is an old post but maybe some one new will see. I recently got a 37" sharp from a relative becouse sound went out. i fooled around with settings and menu and couldn't find anything. so i just hooked up surround sound. while playing my PS3 the tv turned off. when i turned it back on it had sound and been workin for 3 days now. turns out while i was messing with settings i turned on a 3 hour non active option. if the remote or tv hasn't been touched it will turn itself off. I dont know if this will solve anyone elses problem but it worked in my case thus far.

Dear Internets

My co-worker is having a similar problem.
She has a SHARP 26" LCD tv purchased from PC richards, and she says, if you can belive it, that the volume is turned up to 50, but she can barely hear it.
We firmly believe a TV should produce an dequate level of volume with having to hook it up to "surround sound"
Thanking you in advance for any advice!

Check to see if you're getting closed captions. If so it's an indication that mute is actually on somehow. I would check and recheck the cables, replace them. Could be that they only transfer video. Try connecting an external input device such as a DVD player or a camcorder to the front input jacks, on the front face of the TV. If you're getting audio then it's either the cables used or the back panel input jack. That's for the simple fixes. Anything else I would recommend you to take it to a repair shop :[ Good luck

I have a sharp LC-60LE832U TV. No picture. Symbol on bottom of screen flashes 5 short - then 2. Had a tech come out. He replaced (temporarily) the power supply board - did not fix. He said cannot be...

See if this helps:

http://www.tomsguide.com/forum/58779-4-sharp-power-button-flashing

"The frequency and color of the blinks will indicate the issue. There is a hold-down button sequence to try to backdoor your way into the set to see if the panel will light. You may have simply racked up too many "weird tuner faults" and need to reset it. My suspicion is that it's either that or bad panel backlight."

"Unplug set, press and hold (on set) volume-down and channel-down and hold them while pluging in set. Will come on with "k" on screen, or will crash again if backlight bad. If it stays on, use your remote and arrow right then look for "fact init" and any other reset and turn them on. Arrow back up to "fact init" and hit enter. Let set recycle to green and unplug/re-plug in 5 seconds: the set should be in OOB state."

Dx-ldvd22-10a does not power up what part do you think broke

It sounds like your TV is in Shop Mode.
Shop mode is a set of picture parameters that have been optimized for a store showroom or display floor. Shop mode does not allow you saveicon1.png any picture settings such as brightness or contrast.
To get the TVicon1.png out of Shop Mode press and hold the Menu button on the front panel for three seconds, the picture will blank momentarily then reappear with "Dynamic Mode" shown on the screen. At this point the picture parameters can be changed and saved.
If this method doesn't work for your TV there is an alternate method that might.

From the buttons on the front of the TV (not the remote):
1) Press the Volume + (increase volume) button
2) Whilst the volume button is pressed, press and keep pressed the menu button
3) Let go of the volume button and keep the menu button pressed for 5 seconds
4) After this time the screen should go blank and "Dynamic" will appear at the bottom of the screen.

Picture setting regularly changes to dynamic from standard

You need to change the option throgh the service mode.
You can not access that mode without permission from Samsung.
better to contact Samsung call center.

Good day.
Have you checked on the settings? Maybe the speaker function was turned off?
Also, the speaker migth got busted or the audio IC may be the root of this.
Please check.

Sharp LCD LC-46D64U

Try resetting the TV. Here's how to do it - Unplug the TV's power cable. Keep the Channel Down and Volume Up buttons on the TV pressed and plug the power cable back into the outlet. You will hear a click when you plug it back in if the reset is successful. Hopefully this should restore your video and audio.
