Question about Philips Brilliance 109MP (White) 19" CRT Monitor

1 Answer

Wondering? My monitor colors seem to only fade after a bit on a certain pc. I don't have the problem with an older pc with windows 95 on it.I would like to use this monitor with my pc with windows 98 on it but the colors go pinkish and the icons blurr and the screen looks like it's in safe mode,so I'm wondering if it could be within the pc rather than the monitor? Video card maybe?Any input would be helpful.

If it works with one puter then that answers your question. The monitor is good and theres a video card or PC /driver problem. Try to uninstall and reinstall before replacing the card. Good Luck

My computer screen has suddenly turned purplish on the far left corner from the start icon

As monitors grow older, the pixels in them tend to degrade. As they degrade they lose the ability to display certain colors which it seems is happening. Unfortunately there is no solution to this matter.

I have a "dinosaur" type E-Machines monitor,I've

That sounds like a picture tubeproblem and because to the cost of these old monitors it is cheaper just to buy a new flat screen than to try and repair that old one.

Brightness of monitor changes itself to quite dim

YOu can go to the monitor settings to make sure nothing's been changed. It could be an energy saver issue where the display dims after a certain period of time, and you can reset it to longer period of time so it would stay bright for you

Screen keeps fading

I don't know for sure if this will help but it's worth a try. Go to Start, control pannel, system, advanced, performance, settings, and click adjust for best performance. This is a Windows XP fix but the same thing may apply to older OS's (95, 98, 2000, ME, NT (although you may have to set it a diferent way). Many other things could be your problem but this is an easy thing to try.
