Loud noice from Samsung HLN467 Wx/XAA

My TV has worked great for years but now all of a sudden it is making a grinding noise. I took off the panel which houses the fan and it is not the fan. It sounds like it's coming from the bulb. The picture is perfect so what ever the noise is it's not affecting the picture. The noise starts out low and is getting louder.

Samsung HLS5086WX/XAA made popping noise and shut off, then made whirring noise.

When my TV did this in the past it ended up being the color wheel. I had someone replace it and it worked fine. I asked it if had to be calibrated after it is installed and he said no. Also make sure the door switch is pushed down when you install the back bulb door. Sometimes this switch can go bad as well.

I have Samsung DLP TV 50 inch HL-P5063W

First thing to look at is the color wheel this model uses--usually it will make a high pitched fan like sound but can make a grinding sound also.

If it slows down from the 12,000 or so RPM speed it will cause color issues.

HAVE GRINDING OR HIGH PITCHED SOUND?

Loud noise and no picture ON DLP model HLR5668WX/XAA

If it is a high pitched whine or a grinding sound it is a bad color wheel.

Not real difficult to determine and replace.

Let me know if I can assist you.

Loud grinding noice before starting to print

Mine makes a grinding noise when scanning or making copies. As long as everything is working, I just tolerate the noise in which the rest of the staff find amusing at first and then ignore it as I do.
