Sony FD Trinitron WEGA KV-30HS420 30" TV Logo

Question about Sony FD Trinitron WEGA KV-30HS420 30" TV

1 Answer

Haywire TV When turned on, the TV faded to red then turned off with a 7 blink code or 5 blink code. While it is on for the 15 seconds or so, the video is bowed on the top, the raster is visible, the TV seems stuck in the full screen mode and won't accept HD inputs and displays frozen snow on the HD channels. The tech adjusted G2 and one other point to get the TV to stay on but was stumped by the rest. I do have some general TV repair experience, apparently as much or more than the tech that was sent out, but these are beyond me. I've tried the remote control resets and the service mode resets with no luck. The TV is only 18 months old and I'm not paying $600 or more to fix a $900 TV.

Your missing a voltage is all. Its in the power supply or the hi voltage supply. If your a tech then you know of the hi voltage dangers in this set even when its turned off!! if you wanna trouble shoot this correctly go to Howard W Sams and get a service manual, Its available for 55.00 And see whats going on in the set. If you take the set in the servicer will need to purchace or already have this manual . Good Luck
