F7 message with beeping

I don't have a product manual, so I don't know what this message means on my oven screen. All of a sudden, the oven starting continuous beeping and had an 'F7' message on the screen. I pressed 'clear/off' over and over, and it would still do give me the message and the beeping over and over again. Finally, I just flipped the main power switch to off on our main electrical breaker box, so I can't use the over or the cook top. What does F7 mean, and what would it take to fix?

G E Profile range /oven. F7 and beeping. Ordered the electronic panel that goes into the back of the range. Still the electronics don't work. I DID manage to get the oven on after I replaced the panel but had to randomly push some buttons first. That was yesterday and today can't get it to work and the F7 and beeping are back. ?????????????? Tom

The F7 represents a shorted matrix or start key. To determine whether it's the key panel or control itself, disconnect the ribbon cable of the key panel that goes to the control and power the oven up. If the F7 does not come back, it's the key panel, if it comes back, it's the control..

...and here it is without having to wade through that whole thread:

take off the faceplate, unhook the wide, flat ribbon cord and use a pencil eraser to clean the metal contact points. Put it back together and you're good to go for a few months. When it happens again, fix it again. It takes about 5 minutes and it's free, which, by the way, is cheaper than buying either of the parts (which I would venture to guess will have the same problem a while down the road anyway).

The F7 code message could be cause a function pad button stuck or a bad clock. Try to unstick the stuck button - In case you are unable to do it, you should replace the Electronic Range Control (ERC). Good luck !!

My oven is beeping and the F1 code and F7 code are appearing on the screen

Hi

F1 indicates a fault on the electronic oven controller (the clock) & F7 means a function key is stuck.

Check all the keys on the keypad if the fault remains you probably need a new clock.

The oven keeps beeping and displays "F7" as an error message.

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Error F7 on your oven means that the keypad is shorted or stuck and to resolve this issue you’ll have to replace the Electronic Range control (ERC). Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Beeping

Hello,I'm afraid F7 on that make of range usually indicates a problem in the control keypad in which case on your model the whole console panel usually needs to be replaced to correct the condition.

Thanks

Hi

You don't say what type of GE oven this is so I will advise the following;

On a GE range oven F7 indicates either a function pad button is stuck or the clock on the oven is malfunctioning

On the 99 Range oven F7 indicates a shorted Clear/Off Key due to membrane switch or a shorted control or connector

On the GE XL44 Self Clean Oven F7 is Stuck keypad or control relay malfunction

Hope this helps. Please remember to rate my answer. Thank you.

Error code F7 keeps coming up, what does this mean?

F1 error and beeping. Don't bother getting GE out there. Cost me $90 to learn they don't make the clock. WOuld have been $500+ for the control panel anyway. Better off just buying a new one. Planned obsolescence I guess. I won't buy GE again.

Beeping and F7 when cleaning

F7 stuck keypad
Stuck keypad may mean relay is turned on.
Determine if problem is with the Key Panel or Control by:
1. Pushing CLEAR/OFF pad.
2. Disconnecting Ribbon Cable from control and waiting at least 32 seconds to see if Code recurs

If code recurs, problem is in the control. Replace control.

If code does not recur, problem is with the Key Panel.
