You should try to update the driver for the display adapter, not the monitor. right click my computer>hardware tab>device manager if anything, that should be it. You like staying with win 98?

SOURCE: Menu pop ups

Try this:

Under the menu options, there's Menu Lock. Switch it to "On". It worked for me.
My menu button wasn't working, so to access the menu, I had to hold down the arrow up button and push the arrow down button till I got to the Menu Lock Option.

The colors of my laptop's sreen are inverted. I've tried everything I could think of (display settings, system restore,....), how do I fix this?

Click start control panel administration tools computer management device manager scroll to display adapters + to expand you might see a yellow question mark ? or exclamation mark ! or a red x right click select reinstall drivers You might need to upgrade your graphics card drivers. You might have to remove your graphics card to make sure the socket is clean restart your computer the reinstall it this should activate found new hardware wizard if your computer came with a mother board disk the drivers could be on it Click start control panel display desktop you can select a different desktop from the drop down list or a browse button where you can select different pictures this may vary depending on your operating system also you can change the settings for more or less pixels or from the drop down list pick the appropriate level of color range or troubleshoot also select advanced then general dpi normal , larger or custom settings
Always click APPLY after making any changes windows 7 Open Personalization by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking Appearance and Personalization, and then clicking Personalization. Click Window Color and Appearance. Under Window Color and Appearance, click the color you want, and then click OK. Note If you see the Appearance Settings dialog box instead of the Window Color and Appearance window, the theme might not be set to Windows Vista, the color scheme might not be set to Windows Aero, or the computer might not meet the minimum hardware requirements for running Windows Aero. For more information, see Troubleshoot problems with Windows Aero.

Acer apire one everything on the screen looks like night vision

Color Depth, Hue Intensity, Contrast, Brightness etc are all controlled and controllable by the Graphics Settings.

Right click on the open desktop -> Properties/Personalize -> Settings/Display Settings -> Advanced -> Graphics Adapter -> adjust the color settings -> Apply -> OK -> restart computer -> if problem is not resolved uninstall the Video/Graphics/Display Driver from Add or Remove Programs -> Reinstall Video/Graphics/Display Driver from the Driver CD of from the Support/Download page of the Acer website (see below for the link) -> restart the computer and test again -> if this does not resolve the problem, then you may have a faulty Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) Panel Power Inverter of the LCD Panel itself might be faulty. Either can be replaced. The Inverter is relatively inexpensive, a replacement LCD Panel, a little more.

To test for a faulty screen, connect your notebook to an external Desktop Monitor, using a standard VGA Cable -> press and hold the Fn key bottom left of your keyboard -> press the Function key at the top of your keyboard with the image of the two monitors on it -> release both keys -> if the image sent to the external monitor is correctly color balanced and you have tried adjusting the Graphics Settings and reinstalling the Driver, then the fault is likely to be in one of the components of the LCD Screen and you should take the notebook to a repair centre to test test and replace the faulty component(s).

1280 x 1024 at 60 Hz (optimal) resolution is the maximum resolution with 16 color if the other computer had it on 32 bit color setting or the resolution of the monitor aspects ratio changed than it will not display anything on your computer
Solution is plug in your old monitor and change the settings to lowest with the aspect ratio as what the screen size is then plug in the new one that should do it

Need to set the color to 6500K

No, the manufacturer is the one to contact on what resolution is best for your project.
Most monitor are already set for best resolution for photos and movie view and also media editing so you should be OK
if your monitor is a recent model at 16500X780 or it says that is 1080p or 1080 i then you should have no issue with the color setting.
You can go to the control panel and set the display settings for hue, color , contrast and brightness if your Monitor has a graphical user interface for it. Check your user manual for color adjustment for your monitor and also the video card that is install in the PC.
The "control panel will have the display setting for "true, and High color resolution.

all of you mentioned are correct. if they cannot work on color setting of your monitor and for the setting of your resolutions it could be the monitor. the monitor cannot support the color bit mode which required for the windows vista it could be a 16bit color mode which only display for not more than 63herts for the Hi color vsynch compare for the 256color if you have a Hi color settings for about more than 63herst vsynch. it cannot display properly. thanks

Screen is now a weird color

The problem might be in the cable. Try to reconnect it to your machine. Also try to set your color settings on the monitor itself, so that all the colors are equal.

Screen colors

possibly screen color depth is set to 16 colors. - open control panel display - settings tab, slide the color depth to 16 bit. - change resolution to 800 x 600 for now. reboot and see if that does the trick, then readjust settings to your tastes.
