Copy files FROM mp3 to PC?

Is it possible that you are looking in the wrong folder in the MP3 player when it's disconnected?

Possible that the player has encountered problems with corrrupt files and so has hung up.
it will be good to reset the player but you can connect the player to your PC to check the files on the memory. Scan the files and see if there are faulty files , if so remove/copy to a marked folder and format the memory. Then you can copy back only approved files back to the player.

you or some one else might have restored your system to default factory setting.

this can be one easily in many factory buit laptops so check if its done. If yes its very dificut to get your data back else let me know I will try to help

question: from your iriver mp3 have you already format it or the files are still inside?

if your reffering old files as files you've accidentally delete from your player. the only way to retrieve the said files is by using a software "filescav" or filescavenger. this software can only retreive files from any removable device if the said device haven't been formated.

but if you only want to get the present files installed in your iriver, i do think that once you connect your iriver to a PC. the PC will search for a newly installed drive which is your player. and once detected you can open the folder of the newly found device and simply copy and paste all the documents and files you want to copy from your mp3 to PC.

note: you can download filescavenger from web free. just type in google bar " filescavenger" and it will show all the possible download site for the said software

if you use the lower 128kbps, this will allow more files to be stored and the loss of quality will not be noticed. If your ipod accepts wma, the file is about the same size per tack but the quality is better than mp3

your ILO has somehow lost its file structure. look for a tiny pinhole to reset the device. if none, then remove batteries to attempt reset. if still no songs, then firmware upgrade if possible or copy file structure (using windows) from a friend's ILO.
