Text messaging My text message funtction on my phone will not work. I tried calling the carrier but its not that.

Am unable to send SMS messages? Text messaging - space.gif space.gif answer.gif As a set limitation to the phone's design, if the SMS Inbox is consumed, the phone's alternative is to send as an MMS.
If a customer is calling and their phone is sending SMS messages as MMS messages, please advise them that they may have an excessive amount of SMS messages in their inbox. Advise them that deleting some or all of these messages should correct the problem.
To delete messages:

  1. Press Menu
  2. Scroll to and Select Messaging
  3. Press Options
  4. Scroll to and Select Cleanup Messages
  5. Scroll to and Select All, or Inbox
  6. Press Yes, to Delete Messages

Sounds like the message center number might have been changed or erased on the phone. You'll have to call customer service for your wireless carrier to get the message center number for the phone.

Block text messages
Log into your Sprint account on the web,

Click the "SMS Messaging" link in My Online Tools, then click the "Settings & Preferences" link in Text Messaging Options.

If that doesn't help, just call Sprint (or whoever your carrier is) customer service and they can turn off incoming SMS messages.

Try calling someone. If that doesnt work and an animated voice pops up do what it says and then you'lll get a txt that'll tell you that you're allowed to txt, call, etc. If this is not the case, call the carrier and ask if the txting is supposed to be working and ask them any other questions you might have.

Won't send or receive text messages.
I had the same problem twice when I changed service on the phone, once when I asked to change from a fixed rate for 200 messages per month to pay-per-use and the second time when I changed phones out with the same number. They just turned off my text messaging and I had to call to have them reactivate it. Help this helps.

Motorolla cant make a call
It seems that you could potentially not subscribed to your Mobile Carrier, i would suggest calling your mobile carriers Customer support for your country and explaining the situation, your SIM card may just need subscribing/updating with your information for it to work !

Text messaging
Unfortunatly you have to call your cell carrier to RTN your phone which will erase everything in your phone. You may try to go to a store to get a software update.
FYI. I worked for Sprint for 3 years.

Can't text with this cingular razr with a tmobile sim card
Your service center number may be wrong in the phone. Call T-Mobile and ask for the service center number. You should be able to find it in your text messaghing settings. If it is rong (since it varies between carriers) it will stop text messages from going out.
You may also want to try your sim in a tmobbile phone and see if you can send text. Might be a problem on the network, not just with your cingular phone.
