Question about Canon PowerShot A75 Digital Camera

My computer doesn't recognize my camera anymore

I have had my PowerShot A75 for a very long time and have never had any problems with it. Now, all of a sudden, it isn't recognized by my computer (a mac ibook) no matter what program I try to download pictures with. Any suggestions?

Same problem with my Powershot A75 -- all of a sudden won't connect to either of my computers (Gateway laptop running XP, HP desktop running Vista). Downloaded a new driver but installation failed for no apparent reason. After 5 years I guess it's time for a new camera.

my camera cant be recognized either

i had to download the pictures at photo store using the memory card reader

and i just bought a new card for it also

it say the usb device is "not functioning" and to replace the device

i wonder if it needs a fuse?

my wife said that it 'may have gotten a little wet"

it still works we just have to get the pictures read thru a card reader

System not detecting powershot a75 usb not recognizing it

Consider NOT connecting the camera to the computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.

My computer, now with WIndows 7 does not recognize my camera , Canon PowerShot A75 or any photos on the memory card

You can try the following:
- install the software provided with the camera
- search on the web for new or updated versions of the software
- check the camera connection settings. The computer has to see it as a flash memory, and not peer to peer (PTP) transfer.
- Try downloading with a card reader. In general this is the better way, as you don't have to worry about camera battery levels

Impossible download photos

I ran into the same problem with my printer. If you go to the cannon website you should be able to download a plug in to your computer that will update everything so that you are able to download photos

Canon Powershot A75 digital camera

Definitely sounds like you have a bad CCD. There is good news for you though. Canon recognized this particular model's CCD as faulty, and it is under recall! This means they will repair or replace your camera free of charge.

From Canon website: "U.S. residents are kindly directed to contact the Canon Customer Support Center for further assistance at 1-800-828-4040. Support hours are Monday thru Friday - 8:00 AM to 12:00 midnight; and Saturday 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM (all times EST). Alternatively, if electronic support is preferred, please send your email to [email protected]"

Explain to them you have a Canon PowerShot A75 digital camera with a bad CCD and you were looking to get it serviced by them under the recall.

Good luck from darntoothysam.com

How do i

Hi,
You camera should have came with a USB cable to connect to a PC. Basically when you connect the camera to the computer, it should recognize it as a removable disc (if you are using XP). Then as a removable disc you can browse and copy/or cut the pics to your computer.
