Yes i had a similar problem the prewash light kept coming on mid wash cycle and eventually stopped taking in the water just bypassing it straight to outlet without filling machine. i found if you remove the pump at the rear of machine and disconnect hoses there was a build of lets say deposits leading to a sensor through a opaque plastic connector to the top of machine . after cleaning the hoses thoroughly and removing all the crud machine worked as it should do, hope this helps

MIELE W412 PREWASH INDICATOR FLASHING

If your PreWash is flashing then you have a pressure problem. You can dry using a washer machine cleaner or doing a hot cycle with white vinegar. If that doesn't help the electronic would have to be changed.

HE3 doesn't respond to any button. Time light keeps flashing time. Pause cancel button does nothing, Cycle doesn't start. The only thing that will change is if you push a different mode ie, heavy,...

Unplug the machine for at least half an hour to eliminate the possibility of an electronic glitch. Then upon plugging in back, close the door then push CONTROL/ON (if present on this model). Select the DRAIN/SPIN cycle then select NO SPIN by pressing the SPIN SPEED button. Push PREWASH OPTION four times within five seconds. If PREWASH OPTION is not present on this model, press EXTRA RINSE four times within five seconds. C:00 will light up on the display. If the Starting procedure fails, push the PAUSE/CANCEL button then repeat the starting procedure.

In order to advance to the next step of the test procedure, push PREWASH OPTION button two times. If PREWASH OPTION is not present on this model, press EXTRA RINSE two times. The test program goes from C:00 to C:08 and should flash an error code when a problem is present. Post the code back for further troubleshooting, including the exact model number of the machine.

When the washer go s on rinse the prewash flashes Problem

Mine has been doing the same ... each time it goes to the next part of the cycle the red light flashes but the machine doesn't do anything ... so up till I have been able to get the machine moving to the next stage by pressing the "Start" button ... unfortunately the machine will pause on each stage - meaning I have to press "Start" at each stage!

Prewash flashing and machine Overfilling

Their is a small bowl connected by a see trough plastic pipe leading up to the preshour switch, that you will have to clean out the bowl and disconect the pipe from the presure switch and blow trough this to clean out any droplets of water. Replace then try the machine again, it may fill up again, dont dispair, empty the machine and re-blow trough the hose again with it disconected from the preshure switch. To empty the machine of water place the outlet hose into a bucket 3 or 4 times.
