Sounds like a cable problem. I get this a lot with my coaxial cable, it takes a little turning or playing with to start working. Use an optical cable if you have the option, they are more secure, or if you don't mind going analog use the red white rca cable. Either that or replace the coaxial, if you're using one. If your amp/TV, whatever you're connected to, has a vacant audio input jack to switch to, try that as well. Good luck

Reset you player by doing the following:
With the player on, hooked properly to your television1.gif, and on the correct station:
Open the tray
Close the tray (with no DVD inserted)
Hold the stop button down for a full 5 seconds

No picture, but can hear sound

hold down the stop button for 5 sec on your dvd player not the one on the remote control

Check your connections. Make sure they are hooked up correctly(ie yellow to yellow. Check both the connectoins on the dvd player and the tv.

Cyberhome 300 DVD Player: pal to ntsc mode?

You might want to reset to factory defaults, but there is an error in the manual. In order to reset to factory defaults, turn on (with no disc inside), DO NOT OPEN THE DISC TRAY, just press the stop button on the player for 5 seconds.

Lost sound on DVD

I have a CH-DVD 300--not sure how different it is from the 200, but I have the same problem. Putting in an audio CD seems to do the trick, and is less hassle than unplugging (which also works for me).
