Spilt Water Hi, I accidentally spilt cup of water over our tv, some went threw the vent on the top, the tv wasnt switched on, and I left it for few hours before switching back on. When I turned tv back on, the screen is black with green lines, is it broke? Shall I call out tv repair man? Got to tell my partner yet, oh oh!!! Any help would be appreciated! Thanks.

I have a Sharp 2006 TV Water got in it and i took hair dryer and dryed it out a long time its been around 6 days now all it will do when the romote is push on or click it just makes a noise like it comes on but nothing comes on light Crt no sound etc after a few seconds it makes another clicking sound..

Do keep in mind dont operate any device under this condation if u have a hair dryer,open the back of the tv and send hot air to the parts where u suspect that water had been spilled and try once one if not working some components may be got damaged The water that went inside wont go by itself it will make the dest particles inside the circuit bord moist and it will become a short circuit and can damage the components like IC so if similar cases occur try to make the water particles dried before u make the device working

It dosent matter if it's on or off as these sets have what we servicers call a stand by power supply. The sets need a stand by supply to supply a voltage to the remote or microprocessor circuit to operate the remote section of the set. Also these supplys can have other supplys built into them and they are switched or always on . Im thinking that the instant the water hit the chassis you were doomed!! DOOMED I SAY.. LOL just kidding man. Ok best thing to do if your not a technician is dont take the set apart and look for something wrong. There are no serviceable parts in these sets and all your gonna do is see alot of small componets and most of the time you cant see when ones bad and theres alot of voltage in these sets, so i would tell the servicer what you did and depending on how old the set is maybe its still worth fixing.
