SOURCE: I have a new saeco

Hi,
It sounds as if it's a bit clogged up. This can happen with some types of bean - particularly the dark roasted ones, or some that have taken up moisture in storage, or are ground while very cold from the freezer.

Try setting the grinder to the largest setting if possible, and use fresh beans to clear the grinder of the finer particles.
If there is access to the grinder from the top, remove all the unused beans, and brush around with a paintbrush.

As a last resort, use a handfull of white rice to clear the grinder, but obviously throw that away after grinding. Try a different brand of bean, and grind coarser for a while, and if the problem returns.

My coffee beans are not finely ground and hence the coffee is very thin. I have washed the grinding parts and there is no improvement.

I think this is a manual for your machine

Saeco Grind and Brew model IDR 008 TG first the grounds were backing up and door not opening to go into basket, cleaned the dispenser per directions.. now the beans do not even grind at all nothing is...

Your grinder needs cleaning- maybe oily beans got used and/or storing beans in refrig/freezer? Both are a problem for grinder. Also, grinder should not be set to "fine"- it will definitely cause clogging and the situation you point out. ----------- The powder from the coffee grounds seems to get caked in the grinder. The only way to get it out is to run hot water into the little opening where the grounds funnel into the filter basket. --------- This will help.Thanks.Helpmech.

My coffee is weak. i have played with the grinder, placing it at different no. on the outside plus i have played with adjustment on the interior.

Hi
Check the grinds. If they are coarse you have a separated grinder. It usually means it needs to be replaced I have seen them on ebay, but if you can't find them, I have some. If they are not coarse, you have to make 3 coffees before the grind will take affect. After you change the grind you have to make 3 drinks before you will see a change. If you don't have a puck in your dredge drawer, you don't have enough coffee going into the brew unit. Push the lever behind the door in the center top back to the +, then forward 1 click, and try that. There should be a full puck going into the dredge drawer that has the consistency of coarse sugar. If it very coarse its the grinder.

NEED INSTRUCTION MANUAL FOR STARBUCKS BARISTA TYPE SIN 006

Saeco made several models similar to the Barista type, but slightly different cosmetically. If you have the a Starbucks model, it is the same as the Rio Vapore. You can find an operating manual, along with parts and repair diagrams at partsguru.com. I'd download all of the manuals and diagrams in case you need them in the future. Here's the link (I have not had any dealings with partsguru.com personally).
