try looking at the stand that holds the swing, when you put it together maybe you missed some cords that would only connect together that do not plug into the wall.

Flashing standby light shows that protection mode is activated in receiver because of some problem in output amplifier section.
Please check output amplifier section and replace defective component to fix the issue.

try to check speaker wiring connection for possible short ckt. also check speaker itself, this amplifier have protection ckt that make unit off soon as short ckt detected.

I had the same problem, there was a closure by the Q335 transistor in the sorround amplifier. You have to abolish this. Br., csdombi

there should be a small round connector on the rear of the turntable for the mains transformer supply and the loose wire is the earth/ground connector which should be connected to the screw connection on the rear of your amplifier? just loosen the screw ( usually brass or steel ) on the back of the amp, wrap the thin earth wire around the thread making sure it has some exposed copper ie, strip a bit of the cable and then tighten it back up? good luck
