I have a whirlpool quiet partner ii keeps stopping

I have a whirlpool quiet partner ii, and it keeps filling with water, making a sound like it starting the wash cycle, and then losing power. No breakers are tripped in the home, and after hitting cancel to drain the water, I can start it again. This usually happens 5 or 6 times before the thing will actually do the whole wash. It does work, eventually, but seems to be getting worse (or I am getting more annoyed at it). Anybody know what is going on? model # DU1055XTVQ1 ps. I did just post this a bit ago but posted it under "washing machines" instead of "dishwashers"

DON'T REPLACE THE WHOLE BOARD!!! Are you kidding me? These other answers are a joke. I know exactly what is wrong because I had the same exact problem. I had the same problem with the same dishwasher. Get to the control board panel behind the keypad (from the inside of the door). Look at all the capacitors. If any of them have a top that is convex (bubbling out), then they need to be changed. I had two capacitors that were bad (right next to each other). i ordered the same ones on amazon.com for $5. actually i got a 10 pack. unsoldered old ones. soldered new ones in. works perfectly. these models have a poor electronic board design or a poor overall design that blows these capacitors. Such an easy fix. I read so many internet threads where so many people with the same exact problem and replaced the whole board for $120 minimum if they did it themselves. silly. CHECK ALL THE CAPACITORS FIRST. 95% OF THE TIME when electronics go bad, its a bad capacitor, usually one that deals with the overall power. ~cheers

Yeah okay. My solution is a joke? I'm a major appliance repair technician saying that the main board is the issue. Do not do what this person that "had the same problem as you" did. Replacing a mainboard is simple enough let alone pulling out the mainboard and trying to do your own solder work on the mainboard. A repair technician would charge you 275 dollars to replace that Mainboard, these people are looking for a permanent fix. This isn't a samsung T.V. with capacitors going bad. This is a serious piece of equipment and tampering with OEM parts is against the manufacture's allowance unless you're certified to do that. If you have a malfunction with the mainboard and it sets fire to your house even if its not your fault your insurance wont cover it. Something that I have seen other people do in the field. Replacing with the correct OEM part is the professional non-ghetto way to fix this dishwasher and it takes a ton more time to learn how to solder all of the sudden for most customers and people that are looking for a cheap fix as it is. Time is money and proper maintenance on your machine is the CORRECT way to accomplish this. ~ Cheers MATE!

3 possibilities.
1: You have a bad main board causing intermittent error. 2: You have a failing motor. 3: Intermittent Lid switch.

any ideas about how to eliminate any of those possibilities?

For a dishwasher to act up like this, actually, its probably a dirty float switch assembly. If you pull out the dishwasher and take the panel off the left side, its the part that you see connected to the side of the machine where the water fills. This switch tells the machine that its filling properly. If the switch isn't making a proper normally closed connection, it may cause your unit to act this way. I would definitely look at the box, take it out, make sure its clean. If it looks clean, order the box. If that doesn't take care of it, it's the mainboard. Turn the water off and disconnect the inlet water valve to make sure nothing is in the filter screen too.

It could be a bad fill valve or just the screen for the fill vavle.

My Whirlpool Quiet Partner II, Model #W10130986A makes a high-pitched squeal when filling, which varies in intensity when I turn the sink faucet off and on. What could this be caused by?

Sounds like a restricted water inlet valve on the dishwasher. Replacing the valve should solve it, if not there may be another issue with your house plumbing.

Whirlpool quiet partner II stops running or won't complete it's was cycle, sometimes is will wash for a few minutes and stop or it will stop before the water even starts to flow.

I had the same problem with my dishwasher. After hearing that the motherboard was the problem I decided to take a closer look. There were two capacitors (1000 microfarads, 6.3 volts) that looked a little suspect. The tops of capacitors should be flat...these looked like soda cans that had been left in the freezer. Got on eBay, located the capacitors for roughly $3 and $4 shipping, for approx total of $10. Soldered the two new capacitors into the motherboard and put it back together. As soon as I closed the door, the dishwasher started draining the water. When I ran a Normal cycle it completed successfully. Saved myself over $120!

Quiet partner ii just stopped

Most likely it has an internal fuse or relay gone bad. Check the curcuit w/ a "glow stick" power identifier available at Lowes or Home Depot.

I have the Whirlpool Quiet (??) Partner II. My

Have this same problem with my Whirlpool DU1145XTBA. Found out that when you start the unit, it fills with water. If the water does not rise above the filter mesh in the bottom center of the unit then the pump doesn't have enough water to supply pressure to the upper sprayer. Had to replace the Flow Meter. It tells the unit how much water to supply to the unit.
