Got the same fatal error this morning on my Oki C9300. Recycled the power & it went away & returned to printing normally. Signs that the fuser may be going?

Jeap is right, I had the same Error message on my Oki 9600, it would start up, spin and inititalize, and then sometimes stop with the "172: Fatal Error" messgae, or it would stop halfway through printing a docuent with same message. Changed the fuser unit and problem solved.

OKI C330dn Call Service fatal Error:980

That particular error indicates a fuser failure. Try turning off the printer and re-seating the fuser. If this does not clear the message then the fuser needs to be replaced. With such a low number of prints warranty should cover it.

The orange lights are flashing, is there something wrong?

Try:

1 Resolution may vary based on printer driver setting. Color ink droplets can be placed with a horizontal pitch of 1/4800 inch at minimum.
2 PPM print speeds are based on the highest speed printer driver mode. Photo print speeds are based on the default mode driver setting using Canon Photo Paper Plus Glossy paper. Print speeds will vary depending on system configuration, interface, software, document complexity, print mode, types of paper used and page coverage. CPM copy speeds based on fast mode setting using plain paper. Copy speeds may vary based on document complexity, copy mode, page coverage and number of copies.
3 USB 2.0 Hi-Speed requires Windows XP, 2000 or Mac OS X operating systems. For Windows 98, Me and Mac OS X v.10.2 to 10.2.6 operating systems, the printer will operate at USB 1.1 specifications.

"fatal print spooler error" error message

Completely uninstall the printer driver and install again. If this does not work, there is a corruption in the windows registry or in the print spooler cache files.

For a temporary workaround, disable print spooling. But, if you do, you will need to remember to never close an application you print from until printing is actually finished.

Service Call: 173: Fatal Error

That is a fuser erron code. Abnormal temperature. You will need to replace the fuser. Sometimes I have sen a buildup of toner on the thermistor. If you can get to it. You can try to clean the toner off. Be careful. Very hot.
