Re: the tv won't come on
Try to unplug the set overnight to see if the Microprocessorr got a glitch. Try it the next day. If that didnt work i would say then your gonna need a pro as I've said before these sets have no user servicable parts inside so its not like the good old days where you take out a bunch of tubes and check them. Todays sets are all solid state electronic componets so you really have to know your electronics before you should attempt to repair a set these days as you could get a really big shock even if its unplugged. Sorry Good Luck

5 times LED blinks in Panasonic PT-47WX42 shows problem with convergence out
chips failure as this tv has two big black ICs STK392-110 as convergence output,
replace them to fix tv problem.
I unpluged mine and the light was still blinking when it was unpluged. I thought that was weird. So I pluged it back in and just heald the power button in untill the light went out. It went out within ten seconds. I pushed the power button again and the tv went on. WOOHOO!!! Just needed reset, I guess.
Mine did this after a power flash. Lights blinking 5 or 6. They blink fast lol. I have sound till tv powers back down. Front yard bond fire? Or any ideas? Thx.
...OK to begin troubleshooting this. Unplug the set and leave for 1 min then plug up and leave for 2 min push the power button and let light blink for 2 min.... now push and hold at the same time the MENU and DEVICE buton st the same time. this is the self diagnoses feature ... the lights should link then pause then blink again... this 2 digit code will help narrow it down. Also have you check the lamp yet?
Look in the settings to selftimer and set it to 10 seconds and then push the shutter button. The front LED will blink ten times giving you time to put yourself in front of camera and when time expires, LED will blink faster .
if your tv is blinking you are still okay but your set needs service, maybe some board or circut is defective. this happens with panasonics, they have a blink timer. they blink a certain number of times. this blinking feature is called safety mode, you find the part that is fualty according to the number of blinks, you can find out what fualty part is cuasing the tv not to go on by downloading a service manual in pdf format or finding the blink codes, how many times does it blink count it carefully i may have a manual here and maybe can tell you what to replace.
Sony TV;s will give a service code, count the blinks, eg; 2-6, light will blink X amount of times, hesitate & blink again so many times. Count and report back but, I would recomend to unplug the TV's power cord, to reset the TV's system. Unplug for at least 3 minutes. I hope this was helpful.
i love my tv
