Viao screen freezes and crashes randomly

I have had the hardware and software analyzed by computer repair people. Replaced the hard drive recently and that is not the problem. There is only Windows 7, MS office, Google Chrome and Adobe Reader installed. I do not have any other files (including documents and music) installed on this computer.

Well there are some things that might help you with this...

  1. first you need to figyer out weather you have a Hardware, or Software problem.
Here are some ideas...
  • Go to http://www.iobit.com/advancedwindowscareper.html?Str=download for a free scanner. I use it all the time!  When you download it and install it, open it and let it scan... this will find ANY problems on your computer!!!

  • if this dosn't help then go to http://free.grisoft.com/ww.download-avg-anti-virus-free-edition#tba2 and download the AVG Free.  when it is done installing let it scan your computer (may take about 1-2 hrs)

  • if this does not help and you have no warranty, then I would just sell it somewhere like ebay...
and get a newer one :)

SOURCE: Sony Vaio VGN-SZ460N Freezes during Full Recovery

Probably a memory problem even though it doesn't show up on a memory test. Enter the bios and select the option for default setup, "not the optimized setup". Also if you have more then one memory module, remove one and try the install, if you have two try using the one you removed first as the only memory module during the install process. If you have any cards plugged into the computer, remove them all before starting the install. Also all usb cables. Make the system as simple as you can for the new install.

SOURCE: How do i get drivers for my touchpad and keyboard

to be frank about this query, windows 7 does not have proper drivers for most of the device, which win XP and vista supports.
it is new operating system and it is still not fully supported by most of the previous versons of windows.
only solution is to down grade your system (laptop) to vista so that it will be compatible.

thank you

Crash to no turn on and bilking caps light

For BSOD try following steps that might can help:

Check the cables of VGA, Mouse , Printer , Scanner and Keyboard for loose coupling at the back of computer box.
Determine if you changed anything recently.
The most common cause of the Blue Screen is a recent change in your computer's settings or hardware. This is often related to new drivers getting installed or updated. Drivers are software that allow your hardware to communicate with Windows.
Check your computer's internal hardware. Sometimes, a poor connection inside the computer can cause a Blue Screen. Open your case and check to make sure that all the cables are firmly connected and that any cards are seated firmly in their sockets.
This is more difficult for laptops. You can check the hard drive and the RAM to make sure that they are connected properly. Remove the panels in the back that cover the hard drive and RAM with a small Phillips-head screwdriver. Press the components firmly into their connections. This step is not recommended due to damage in customer device risk.
Check your computer's temperature. Overheating can lead to your hardware malfunctioning. One of the most common components to overheat is the graphics card. In BIOS post test the computer shows on black screen at start up the temperature conditions of computer box. To check it customer can restart the computer and on first screen top right or left corner will show the information of temperature. If it is more than 40 celcius then it is more likely to crash the computer. Reseat the computer in a more cooler place i.e top of the table and away from the wall for venting purpose. The malfunction of processor fan can also be the reason.
Test your RAM. A common culprit in system crashes is a bad stick of RAM. When RAM fails, it causes the system to become unstable. Open the box unplug it from the Slot Remove the RAM clean it for carbon and dust particles and plug it back on make sure when you plug it back you hear the click sound.
Test your hard drive. Run the "chkdsk" function on your hard drive to scan for errors and fix potential problems. A failing hard drive can cause Blue Screens due to corrupted files. To run chkdsk, open command prompt and type CHKDSK entre.
Strip your computer down to the essentials. This is possible on desktop pcs that take out all hardware including hardisk, keyboard, mouse etc and start plugin them one by one until error comes again.

Visit this page and make sure you have all the proper drivers installed. This should take care of the problem. Windows does not always support the hardware that these manufacturers put in their systems (the driver database would be unbelievably huge if they did)

Inspiron B130 Blue Screen Error message UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME Will not open in safe mode, cannot access computer hardware to disable or remove any hardware - haven't downloaded or added any new hardware...

Problem is with your hard drive. You usually get that message when it crashes or is failing.

I'd suggest taking it to a local repair shop to confirm this.

Sorry.

Blue screen with rows of white lines (not BSOD) causing laptop crash

A blue screen generally indicates an operating system error or hard drive failure. Start by doing a system repair with your recovery or operating system disc. If the repair doesn't take, then reformat the hard drive and install a new operating system. If the hard drive won't format, or you have any issues during or after the install, then the hard drive has failed and will need replaced. You will need an operating system or recovery disc in order to do this. If this is a preloaded machine that didn't come with any discs, then you will need to acquire the disc.

Why is my mac locking up?

Try using Disk Utility to repair permissions on the startup volume. Reboot.
Another option is to manually download the most recent OS patch from Apple and reapply it.
Worst case scenario, boot from the original CD, or most recent OS disk you have purchased, (hold down 'C' while booting) and do an 'archive and install'. This will reinstall your system - pay attention while doing this, you don't want to wipe your hard drive.  As always back up your stuff first.

Did the problem start after installing any new software or hardware?
Faulty RAM can be an issue also - if you have two chips, power down, remove one and run it for a while on one - see how that goes. If you can, (depend on the model) then swap them and do the same with the other one. Random freezes can be RAM related.
More detail about when it locks up would be helpful.
