Sony cmt-ne5 cd reads no disc

I ave a dvd player for my car ito spin the cd but after a few minutes it says no disc

The problem may be due to its Laser Pickup Unit itsef. Just put any other good CD, which was played with this set earlier, and see whether it ireads the xisc and starts to play it. If not, put in a lens cleaning disc {which can be bought from most of the electronic spare part selleing shops at your town, and won't cost more}, play this disc at least three times, by ejecting it out from the set, and reinsert it in to it each time. This will clean the laser pickup unit's lens. If the fault is due to accumulation of dust or dirt, this will help you. If not, there is no other way than replacing the Laser Pickup Unit of the device, with same type and number. OK.

Replace the flat strip connection wire that connect the laser pickup unit to main board first. If it does not helps you, replace the laser pickup unit with same type and number. OK.

Check its sled motor. It is the motor that helps to spin the disc inside. If disc do not spin inside, check the voltage at the terminals of this motor. If it is alright, and comes near to 5VDC, the sled motor is damaged and have to be replaced. OK.

Look whether the CD spins inside the set, after it has been loaded well. If not replace sled motor. Sled motor is one which do spins the disc inside. If disc spins inside, and the set do not read the disc, laser pickup unit is faulty, and should be replaced with same type and number. OK.
