I AM LOOKING FOR LATEST DRIVER DRIVERS FOR MAXTOR DiamondMax 21 SATA 250GB Hard DRIVE FOR WIN XP-PRO PC

The latest drivers and support would be available from the Seagate website. The Seatools utility is an excellent tool that is also available.

My harddisk , seagates replica single PC unable to detect all of the sudden.... it shows that the window unable to install the driver.. hope to find a solution cause all my backup data inside..

Hi t_c_low2005 ,

First of all , please do not panic,

Nothing would happen to your data unless you deleted it intentionally or your hard disk has suffered a hardware damage.

I would recommend you to check if you have an extension wires for USB connected , if yes then remove them and connect the hard disk directly to the USB slots on your motherboard.

This should work fine...:) Hope it helps.

I can't use this as a bootable device with Windows XP.

Dear,
Not every PC is capable of booting from a USB flash drive. For the most part, computers manufactured within the last two years are generally able to boot from a flash drive. Older systems may require a BIOS update, or might not be able to boot from a flash drive at all.
Drive must be formatted with FAT file system.
For your systen you need an internal Hard drive.

845 GLLY Maximum Hard disk support

Try first to reformat the 40 GIG hard drive that you have since it still detected under BIOS so hopefully that can still be reformatted and still work after that, but if still have the same problem this 40GIG hard drive may have alot of bad sectors already , Sorry to say but the 200 gig of sata drive wonto work for this motherboard since it doesn't support SATA drive , you can get a 1600GIG of IDE drive for this, this is teh complete specs of your motherboard

250gb sata hard disk to 845 glad mother board

Hello all. I have the same issue. My MB is 845G [P4 2.4 Ghz] and SATA harddisk I need to install is Seagate 250 GB Baracuda with 3.0Gb/s interface, I belive which makes this HD as SATA II. So for this motherboard should I prefer PCI cards which support SATA II over the supports SATA I [these are cheaper].

Thanks so mcuh!!!
