Amana Convection Oven - Beeping Continuously
my amana convection oven, bought from sears, has continually started beeping. i've had to turn the power off because of this. it was doing it a few months back and then suddenly stopped; it has now restarted.

My Amana convection plus oven has started beeping and showing an F1 error. I have to turn off the range power to make it stop. This happened just after the warranty went off, earlier this year, and the repair place ordered a new circuit panel. By chance, I turned the power back on before they came to replace the panel, it had 'self corrected. It was fine for several months, now is beeping again. Anyone have a fix? Thanks.

F1 code and continuous beeping. This is a common problem with that type of Amana control. The control panel has a design problem I think, and it gets dirty and worn over time. I have replaced mine once, and it happened again less than 2 years later. I took the control panel out, and inspected it. I found a web solution, that said to shim the control panel out away from the housing slightly because it rubs on the metal around the opening and damages the control board contacts. I could see little scratch marks on the plastic skin around the edge of the button area, so that made sense. I tried that, and it still did not work.....panel was still beeping. Mine seemed to be the timer control that was going on and off, and then eventually an F1 error. So, I took the panel out again, and actually peeled the control surface off of the control board. No going back now, I thought. I got it off....it is really sticky.......and looked at the control panel itself . It looked fine, but there was a lot of gunk and wear marks around the edge of the plastic button area. I cleaned it up with alcohol swabs, and checked to make sure none of the printed circuit paths had any wear or damage, and then put the cover back on the board. It was still sticky enough to go back on, and stay in place. I reinstalled it, and "bingo" no more problem. It has been fine for 3 months now. Yahooo! The pic below is just an example pic from the internet. My model is slighty different, but the panel looks basically the same.

There is a blower on the top of the oven, which turns on when the oven is hot enough. If the warm/hot air is coming out from top vent corners - this is the blower working. Even if you turn the oven off at that moment, the blower will still work until the oven cools down. This is normal.
F1 Error code for Amana indicates a failed electronic range control (ERC)... that's the main computer behind the keypad.
Post back with the exact model number and I'll assist with part number and replacement procedures.
I repair commercial cooking equipment for a living. When a customer complains about uneven cooking the #1 thing that these manufacturers ask is..... are they turning (180*) the baking sheets half way thru the cook cycle. #2 are they staggering the pans front to back & side to side. It's kind of a pain but, works for the commercial ones.
My oven was locked and would not open. No lock light was on but the oven was clearly locked. F9 error when I hit certain buttons.
Try this. I unplugged the oven for about 5 minutes. Plugged back in. A LOCK light came on. Held down "Oven Cancel" for a few seconds. Door opened and lock light went off. No more F9 error when I hit those buttons.
looks as if th ef1 only pertains to the erc(electric range control), the switch membrane qould be an f7 (shorted key pad, the oven sensor os diff code all together
I have just checked the baking guide in the manual and have found that it may not be us after all. (Maybe this is why they telll us to read the whole manual. Well, I never have) According to the cooking time for Baking, the range is very extensive. For example, an angel cake at 350 could take from 28-50 minutes, buscuits at 375-400 could take 8-16 minutes, layer cakes at 350-375 could take 25-40 minutes, pound cakes at 325-350 could take 45-70 minutes and fresh pies at 400-450 could take 35-60 minutes. Basically, the baking directions on the box means absolutely nothing to use Amana oven owners. We have no choice but to cook our food or baked goods until they are cooked, whenever that may be. :) Linda
