Has full charge can turn it on while plugged in for charging but won't stay on if unplugged.
I was able to reset my daughter MP3 while it was plugged in with the USB cord and then charged it fully and it works fine now. It appears I also had to adjust the on/off button.

Boot failure or just nothing?
Boot failure would be the hard disk.
Just nothing would indicate that the system board is dead.
You don't mention using the mains power adaptor.

Doesnt use CE. Power up and hold the middle touch button. Select option to rebuild the database.

The converter on the player recodes to a .avi file. it will REcode regular .avi files to a smaller screen size.
