I have the same problem with my Wireless Optical Mouse ver 2.0. I went to MS pages on the net, but was unable to find a solution. Short of taking the batteries out each time, I'm at a loss as to how I can fix it. Costs a small fortune in batteries every few weeks.

Well I am sure I have solved our problem. With a little searching on Google I came across this link to microsoft downloads. It's a PDF file and is a user guide that is relevant to a number of different wireless optical mouse's from MS. So here is the link, but I have also left a copy on the "User Manual & Guides" area of this site.

http://download.microsoft.com/download/1/3/9/139a8c30-34cc-4453-a449-7a1c586a3ae5/X09-50622_Wireless_Mouse.pdf

If MS were to make their support pages more user friendly I might have found it. I must have spent an hour going in circles looking for this exact guide.
Oh, the answer to our problem is that the laser does not shut off, it just powers down to a standby mode. Sneak up on it when next you are going to turn your computerand you will see the laser is in dim mode.

Anyway I hope this has answered your question, as it has done for me. Cheers Garry.

Just bought my wireless mouse. Is the laser light that is shineing very brightly suppose to stay on all the time? Everytime I pick it up it is so bright and won't go off.

Yes, that light stays on all the time. That's how the mouse works; it bounces the light off the surface the mouse is sitting on back up into a sensor. In many models the light actually gets brighter when you pick the mouse up. The sensor sees less light reflected and increases the amount of light. Just use the mouse and don't worry about what you see if you pick it up.

Is the light supposed to stay on? I just got started with a wireless keyboard and mouse and it looks like the laser light on the mouse stays lit all the time? Is that normal? How often will I have to...

Yes it is normal for the laser light to be on all the time.
And you will change your battery depending on its durability.
So when the mouse or keyboard stops working then you should know its time to change your battery.
I hope this solution has been helpful.

I dont know how this thing works or where to plug it in

You FIRST download install the software driver for it Micro Innovations PD7250LSR from the manufacturers web site, & THEN plug the thing with a"Tail" into a USB port, The "Mouse" connects to/through this.

I have just installed windows 7, I cant get my wheel to work, and some times the keys on my key board don't work

I suppose you mean your wheel on your mouse? Try installing the correct drivers. If you have a cd that came with the mouse use it or find the correct driver on the net and download it. Reinstall the driver. Swap out the keyboard with another and see if the problem stays or goes away.

Micro Innovations cordless rechargeable laser mouse

See if the mouse has a small reset button. You may have to use a pen or something like it to push and hold the button for a few seconds to reset the mouse. That works for me.
