Hello jrlibs
Welcome,

You said, Your Maytag Gemini top oven, the bottom element does not get hot. You replaced the element with a new one from Maytag. Asking what is the problem?

1.What is the model number and the year of your Gemini Range?
2.Was there an error code that came up before you changed the heat element?
3.If yes what was the code?

4.Did you check for current in the connection leading to the element before you installed the new one? Or just plug it in hoping for the best?

Waiting for your reply!

Maytag Gemini, double oven electric. Replaced bottom element, replaced thermal sensor and tested power. It still won't heat up. WHY?

There are several potential reasons why your Maytag Gemini double oven electric range is still not heating up after replacing the bottom element and thermal sensor and testing the power. Some possibilities include:
  1. The wiring or control board may be faulty and preventing the oven from heating up.
  2. The upper heating element or broil element may also be faulty and need to be replaced.
  3. The oven may not be calibrated properly, which could cause it to not heat up correctly.
  4. There may be a problem with the oven's door latch or switch, which could prevent it from heating up.

Bottom oven on Magtag Gemini burning bottoms of everything

when you set oven on bake the broil element comes on too,set the bottom oven on broil and see if the element gets hot,if not, unplug the machine or kill the power going to it,remove the element and check it with a meter to see if the element is bad,if so change out broil element if element is good you could have a broken wire or bad clock assy.there's a computer board with the clock that everything runs through, hopefully you have a bad element,if the element is coming on next thing to check is the sensor, this tells the computer how hot it is so it will turn the elements on and off,if you look behind the top panel in the back i think the paperwork is in a plastic pouch,it will tell you how to read out the sensor,i think it's 1080 ohms,or you can read out the sensor on the top oven and then check the bottom sensor and hopefully it will be a bad broil element or sensor and not the clock assy. hope this helps.

Bottom oven heating element turned white hot and broke in the middle. Can I replace myself?

This is a common problem and easy repair. Locate the model number onside the oven door frame. Purchase the element based on the model number. TURN OFF the power to the oven. Unscrew the 2 screws inside the oven holding the element to the back wall. Gently pull the element forward. The wires will be short.Remove the wires from the broken element. Place them on the new element. Re-insert the element terminals and attach the screws.
TURN ON the power. Bake me some cookies and send them to me.

2001 Gemini electric double oven

you can remove them from the inside.after you remove two screws.(one from each side of the element) pull it out slowly so that you dont disconnect wires from the element. if wires disconnect then you have to pull ou the oven and unscrew back panel to reattach the after you install the new element.

Maytag Gemni Stove

The problem is either in the oven control or the element (in some cases could be both). You will need a meter to check the resistance on the elements as well as power to the element. Remember this is 240 volts and very dangerous. If your not comfortable with it call a professional.
